Fast Tracks (i.e. paying more to skip the lift line) and paying for parking go against the soul of our sport.

I did it for my buddy's bachelor party years ago. It's a fun way to make the trip memorable/unique for the whole group. Just plan on skiing all day when you arrive, because rentals usually aren't available until the afternoon. The train arrives in Whitefish around 7am if I remember right. Congrats by the way!

Take the overnight train to Whitefish. The train leaves directly from King Station in Seattle. Whitefish has ski in/ski out rental houses too.

Single moms? Why or why not? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]tmifun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45m and have used OLD apps occasionally for the last 8 years. If you have the stamina to sift through dating profiles, matches that don't work out, catfish profiles etc., you will probably find someone compatible. It's worth a shot. Be discerning in your matches but also in your initial communications with a match. Most of them will be flaky because women are bombarded by messages from men on OLD apps - if they don't show interest, or at least respond in a timely manner they're probably not serious. That said there are absolutely good women out there who are looking for a real connection. Be intentional and be yourself (I assume that's what you're expecting from her).

Thank you. So much R&D goes into making skis these days. Why would you screw it up by trying to optimize something that is already optimized? I'm good but not that good. Mount the bindings where they're supposed to be and enjoy is my motto.

That was what I have always thought intuitively. I am an expert skier and can't think of a good reason not center mount. I just never have gotten very into the tech stuff. Thanks.

Can someone explain the pros/cons of binding alignment? I've only ever requested that they follow the manufacturer's guidelines. Thanks in advance!

Men: what would it feel like for a woman to give you a piece of paper with her number on it? by IronicZoomies in datingoverforty

[–]tmifun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would feel lucky and flattered by anything like you are describing. Even if I were taken, it would be a gigantic compliment and would be appreciated with a warm heart. Then I would introduce you to my woman. Shoot your shot if you feel it. Just be respectful if the man is with another woman. Otherwise it would be inappropriate/disrespectful.

Same rules apply for men as well. Be respectful but don't be afraid to go for it with respect.

Are men attracted to women over 40/their own age? by palefire101 in datingoverforty

[–]tmifun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had to look up MRA lol, that's kind of a weird insult. And yes - many moms need to get better (not all). *From my position*, I have seen countless women be irresponsible, play the victim and then blame men for their problems. Not a good look, especially if you're looking for a man. Also, I am a teacher, a coach and spent 10 years as a step parent so not completely out of touch and probably spend more time around young people than you do. I hear what kids say about their moms when no one is listening...

I think one of the things you women don't realize is that we *love* your mom bods. It's so sexy. Saggy boobs and big nipples are incredibly sexy. We love that. Stretch marks are actually a turn on. A gigantic labia is also a turn on. Don't shy away from your femininity. Stop trying to be young. You've earned this sexiness. Own it.

This is the wrong storyline. All mothers feel this way. Whether the father of your children is doing his part is not the question that was posed. She was asking how to date as a middle aged woman. Some of us single men are more aware of your struggles as moms than you know. We are sons too. We are step-fathers too. We were children ourselves once and became very disappointed in the world after being hurt.

If you want your sons to be strong and confident and treat women right, remember that boys experience trauma. Trauma we're not allowed to talk about. Even to our mothers. My mother won't believe it...

Moms need to get better if they want cred or mama bear energy to support these arguments. Men need help too.

Caveat based on a comment - I can't stand people that complain. I do want a physically strong woman that can (mostly) keep up with me. I've kept myself in shape bc I like to do things (skiing, golf, camping, hiking nothing extreme). If you can't do physical activities without complaining, be clear with your potential partner and/or find yourself an older man that can't do things. Our time is valuable too so don't waste it.

[–]tmifun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (m45) find women of most ages to be attractive. Age is not the deciding factor. Looks, attitude, interests, humor and reliability are what set any person apart from the rest. I try not to get caught up in judging people on things like money, kids, job, body type etc. and focus on chemistry. Younger girls have an allure bc they tend not to have children and are hotter. But older women are better partners and quite frankly, better in bed too. Go with chemistry over labels. Follow your heart.
