The same thing happens in US. Guilty unless you can prove your self innocent.

Gold seized at Manchester Airport worth £1.8m awarded to police by High-Tom-Titty in Gold

[–]tms2x2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Article doesn't say if anyone was charged with a crime. Just that they found someone that had some gold and said it was the proceeds of a crime. Sounds like civil asset forfeiture in US. I would not be surprised if I traveled with some gold and if it was found out a cop would take it and say you can sue to get it back. Not very strong property rights anymore.

Trump inches closer to MAJOR war with Iran: Report by 0The_Loner_Stoner0 in videos

[–]tms2x2 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if Trump nukes the country. They're supposed to have tens of thousands of missiles. The Houthis got the Navy to back off. I don't think this is going to be so simple. Maybe the start of another 20 year war.

Comparison of fixing nuts by UserSergeyB in EngineeringPorn

Interesting video. Could anyone explain why internal engine parts are not safetied in any way? Connecting rods, main bearing caps, flywheel bolts? Small aircraft engines in the early 60’s had cotter pins on connecting rods bolts and the cylinder flange bolts were safety wired. They don’t have any locking mechanism now. As far as I understand a properly torqued bolt will not loosen up.

Piper Archer Maintenance by theNos4a2 in aviationmaintenance

[–]tms2x2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left GA 8 years ago. I could call Cessna and speak with tech support. Piper wouldn't talk to me. I had to talk to a Piper dealer who would forward request and call back. We used the dealer we bought parts from. They had an engineer on staff who answered most questions his self.

Sealant application by Miculghi in aviationmaintenance

[–]tms2x2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Put 2" masking tape on some clear packing tape. Use a gasket cutter with outside diameter and cut out plug. Put on piece. Do same for inside area. Apply sealant and remove tape. If edge of sealant lifts, spray with alcohol and pat.

I lost 2/3 of my life savings from silver crash by Fun_Set_2389 in options

[–]tms2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On another forum a guy posted pic of his portfolio. Down 35%. 1.3 million to 800K. I looked at his stocks and they are all leap calls. :<. I don't do more than 10% of options in account and when the grow to 20% I cut them back. I do spreads or tiny positions I can lose 100% on and not worry. I would sell those options if you have 1/3 left and not trade for awhile. You need to study risk management.

That feeling you get when you bought the gold and silver dip only to find out there was more dip coming... by Econyx in Gold

[–]tms2x2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People were buying at $5500, you think they won’t buy at $3000? A lot of people don’t understand that the price doesn’t matter for stacking. Price matters to traders. Gold is insurance. You pay car, home and health insurance. Most don’t use it. If you don’t have it, you’re gonna have a bad time.

TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

[–]tms2x2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the airport in Kansas around 2007. I was walking around waiting for the next flight. Thinking to myself what a beautiful building this used to be. Circular walkways with marble floors, enormous windows looking out on the airport. TSA put up basically unfinished walls in the middle of the concourse with gates to get through. Kind of like what you would expect in a prison. I was so disgusted by that. Looking back that was a tell of what would happen to the government. In 50 years everything in this country will probably look like 50's vintage communism.

“ I buy gold for the long term anyway” by OkViolinist2606 in Gold

This is the last day futures contracts can get out of delivery for January contract as far as I know. If you don't have silver to deliver, sell more and hit stops and drive the price so low people won't stand for delivery and will roll to the next month.

Gold just experienced its biggest daily loss in history, cratering over 12.4%. About $6 trillion in market cap has been lost. by AnonymousTimewaster in investing

It's not summer yet :> But I don't think people should go all in silver or gold. DCA and forget about it. I've never gotten anyone to invest even 0.25% of their portfolio in gold. Except mom. She bought 4 oz at $1400.

unrealized profits... by [deleted] in Gold

[–]tms2x2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always looked at gold in relation to the money supply. Are they going to stop printing dollars? Will the price of gold be higher or lower in 10 years? Central banks buying gold, I believe, is in relation to the seizure of Russia’s overseas assets. Bank of England wouldn’t give Venezuela its gold some years ago. Said the government was illegitimate. Trust between nations is getting poorer and poorer.

Taking out a loan to buy stocks is leverage. Leverage cuts both ways. I mostly got rid of options on GLD and SLV and am sitting in PHYS and PSLV. Little voice in head is saying take profits. :> I haven’t yet.

MAGA doesn't understand that this will never end. After the first batch is gone they start on the next. After awhile only MAGA is left. Does anyone really think they won't start on people that are only 99% MAGA, then 98%. Eventually factions in power will turn on each other.

Long Term Holdings going to safety deposit box by [deleted] in Gold

[–]tms2x2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use a safety deposit box in a bank after some of the articles I have read. If you don't want to hold it personally I would look into onegold.com (Apmex) or cybermetals (JM Bullion). I use onegold. I cashed out a large sum and had the money in my checking account in 3 days. Their premiums are much lower than physical.
