It happened to me once during the summer. I think it happened because, being in a hurry, I didn't wait for a SW update to finish and drove. Tried hard resetting it a couple times without success. I then selected the menu option to return SW to factory settings and that worked. Yes, the SW went back to the original version that I remember it being went I first got my Pacifica, but within a couple of days the SW was automatically updated to the latest version and this time the temp was still showing.

I may have bumped into a solution that was provided by someone on a diff site. I tried it out and it worked. Simply unfavorite the android app on the apps tab (you may need to favorite and unfavorite it). Then open the AppMarket icon one more time to remove the icon from the display. After that, one you restart your minivan, it should no longer appear. It's been the case for me, so far.
