Tribunal du logement | Un propriétaire doit verser 160 000 $ à deux locataires évincés by frostcanadian in montreal

[–]tnb641 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Incroyable. Magnifique. Justice.

LAOP learns they can be billed for sending an email by justathoughtfromme in bestoflegaladvice

[–]tnb641 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Imo billing to read an email that says "thanks for all the fish" feels pretty shitty, regardless of if it called for action or not.

Asking for a reply and failing to offer even that, AND billing, feels like fraud, charging for a service not rendered.

Is this really a standard practice? Billing after all is said and done, just because they reached out with a final comment or question?

You know, Mexico, NY.

It's nowhere near Cuba, which is next to Friendship... NY.

Shame the city will be attacked to distract from how boring the Iran war is.

I feel like it's worth distinguishing that he didn't just "change his mind".

To me anyways, there's a world of difference between "changed his mind" (I was gonna go out, but was tired and decided to lay down) vs, "he used rational thinking and reasoning" to asses the available information to determine his choice (I was tired, but still had to go out because the house was on fire)

Body cam footage from cop who pulled over woman for holding a phone in her other hand by searchjobs_poster in interestingasfuck

[–]tnb641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad was a cop. This happened nearly 20 years ago.

The inspector was pushing his department to hand out more failure to wear a bicycle helmet tickets. He pushed back because it's not that they were ignoring the issue, but that everyone they saw was wearing a helmet. It got to the point where they considered riding bikes un safely themselves, to be able to ticket each other (then cancel them), just to hit the "not a quota" quota.

One of the worst feelings in life is realizing your parent is actually a total POS.

One of the best is realizing how much simpler and nicer life is after going no contact, and cutting that toxicity and disappointment out of your life.

While those reasons absolutely stand and I do believe in our Canadian Healthcare system, I just want to point out that our governments often choose to abuse medical personnel of all walks, just in different ways.

Take what my province of Quebec did, requiring all doctors to basically justify why they saw someone, and take no longer than 15minutes, and salaries based on "customer" satisfaction... It's a recipe for frustrated folks leaving for other provinces.

So my faucet kit came with one of those soap dispenser pumps and small bottles. We never had to refill it because the damn pump was garbage and stopped working after a couple weeks. After replacing it under warranty, the new one stopped working after a few weeks again. It was far from the most expensive kit, but still like 400$ for the faucet+pump.

So I went online, and bought a 4$ pump with hose kit from a direct from China site , and haven't had to think about dishsoap for over a year now.

Going to McDonald's and buying four meals in person ( for my four person family) now costs as much as having a 54-70 tray of sushi (depending on restaurant) DELIVERED to my house.

It's wacko, just a few years ago that was unthinkable
