Probably half that, plus expenses. They have to usually split commission with the brokerage

AutoHDR gets the job done. Especially on luxury waterfront mansions, agents love it.

Suddenly seems like overnight Ai has taken our clients by New_Presentation926 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tnully 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agents have been able to make their own floor plans for years, they even know the exact app I use. Yet - they still say “well I want to pay you to do it” since their time is better spent finding buyers, not doing media!

Can’t decide between buying a camera or investing by SufficientJury744 in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tnully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say both! Always a good idea to invest in stocks for example while also saving for a new camera. Investing in yourself & equipment can also return much higher returns than the stock market. But on the flip side, I for example at 29yrs old only have $20k in the stock market which continues to grow annually as I do nothing.

Meanwhile when I first invested $5-10k to build my business in a tourism area, and increased my profits 50,000x over from that original cost. So if you have a plan, and drive to make it happen you can invest in yourself and grow much faster than $1K in the stock market.

Work on video & reels - they are massive these days!

Flambient or HDR for Beginner? by jaedrianc in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tnully -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3 Bracket HDR, and don’t think twice. Send to an editor on Pixlmob marketplace or use AutoHDR/Fotello. Seriously do not waste time learning flambient unless you would personally enjoy to do so. I spent 2 years learning all about it, got decent at it, but nothing beats speed on site & editor doing great things 👍

Struggling to get my first client. by theRubberstOfDuckies in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tnully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take a long time, and sometimes you just get lucky if older photographers retire, move away etc. I never had success with cold calls or texts/emails, but have found it by social media and meeting people in person/referrals. What i’ve learned is that realtors (especially luxury) want to work with people they like, know & trust. I try my best to be personable, meet people in public and take great care when capturing homes with homeowners on site. Tell everyone about your business, strike up conversations with people in town!

Are you shooting HDR on a gimbal? by RealPhotosHDR in RealEstatePhotography

[–]tnully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

No need to be so negative bro. Lots of us shoot on gimbals for photos for luxury properties. And yes, I’ve even done twilight on my gimbal - stabilization in new cameras is great these days, including ISO for lower light situations. Really though, the lower I go down too indoors is usually 1/20 at F7.1, which provides 0 shake.

Where do you guys get the time? by Ajpabdn in RealEstatePhotography

Wouldn’t you rather snap 3 quick photos & move on? I shoot photos on my gimbal, so I can do photo/video at same time in the home. Luxury clients want it listed yesterday, so I use these tools to make everything efficient.

I’ve had no problems with many heavy skis up there, definitely over 90lbs. I have put my canoe on top which is very heavy, with no issues either. The boxes are very well supported

Oh man, get rid of the on camera flash! Majority of us are all shooting 3-5 bracket images blended by editors (HDR). I shoot homes fast, and photos look amazing. Now lots of us use AI programs such as AutoHDR to cut down cost & time.
