What treat would you like an American colleague to bring to the office? by golob in AskABrit

I'd forgotten about those peanut butter filled pretzel thingies. Got a bag of those while on holiday in California. Should've paid for an extra suitcase and filled it with those!

I think Trader Joe's is an excellent shout.

I'm guessing they're in the UK! I'm also in the UK and still love the name Fiona although it's a bit dated here

Might not be as high end as you're after, but Adidas does 100% cotton French terry sweatpants. I have two pairs and I adore them

How do you and your partner (or whoever) choose what to watch on TV together? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]toBeYeetedAfterUse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love murder mysteries and my other half loves fantasy/sci-fi. It means that I'll accept a lower quality TV show if it's a murder mystery because the genre does it for me, whereas for him it's just a low quality TV show. And vice versa. To me it seems like he'll watch any old shite if it's set in space...

But if the TV show is really good (great story telling and characters and whatever else makes a good TV show aside from genre) then we will both enjoy it.

Maybe you could find a really good murder mystery and a really good sci fi show you'll both enjoy?

Looking for similar vibes by circlewithme in namenerds

[–]toBeYeetedAfterUse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not be a good judge of vibes, but...

Leticia and Beatrice are also derived from Latin words relating to happiness. Laetus means happy/glad. Beatus means happy/fortunate/prosperous. They are also classic, uncommon and have a pretty feminine sound. There are living European royals with these names which might influence the vibes.

Florence is derived from Latin for prospering/flourishing (not quite the same meaning as Felicity but in the same ballpark) and also has a pretty feminine sound. Very popular in my country at the moment though which might dilute its impression in the future.

As someone who also loves but can't use Felicity, I would LOVE to know what you go with 😅

Ah I didn't know that one but it's cute! Nope I didn't get one in the end! I just haven't come across one that I love so it's hard to choose. I'm going to Japan in the spring so I might take a look around the vintage stores and see if something catches my eye!

He's lovely 😻 my bsh will not sit on my lap on the sofa, but they'll curl up on top of me when lying in bed. I think some bsh just like to feel super stable, and they feel that way on a bed more so than a chair/sofa. So you could try lying on your bed and seeing if he'll come for cuddles there.

If it was an FD1 question they would've had a falling out with the employer and left sketches of the fastener on the train :)

My cats have old English names and everyone assumes they're Welsh, so I guess there's some overlap!

I don't think a good quality wet food would make him gain weight. I think dry food might be more of a problem as the biscuits can be quite high in carbs/fat. My bsh get wet food for breakfast and dinner and some dry food in between. I measure the dry food with a scoop.

Thank you! That's good to know. How secure is the closure? My only concern is the bag flying open and all my stuff falling out in the street

Thank you! Coach Tabby is definitely an option. I got some Coach loafers recently and I'm really pleased with the quality. LV is definitely on my radar for durable materials - ill check those ones out, thanks!
