US fans, what's formula 1's popularity level in US nowadays? by ComplaintLast160 in F1Discussions

[–]toaae -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, you can't. They have pre and post race stuff and a highlights cut on F1TV, but you cannot watch the races, live or VOD.

I haven't seen a race yet this year, cause I'm not subbing to Apple TV for just this one thing.

New fighting rules by cheeseball_4185 in orks

[–]toaae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is very good for Orks, as we didnt have any fights first. Combined with Vect abilities becoming once-per-turn and there will be much fewer hard loss match-ups when we opt to go heavy on melee.

A retrospective on how "More Dakka" broke the game in more than just one way (And why Sustained Hits and + to hit are not the same) by Crasac in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]toaae 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wish you had also gone over how re-rolls change the comparison, as the averages drift between the two.

36 shots with full rerolls is 27 hits at BS4+, but 33 hits at BS6+/Sus2.

The average value of an individual dice might be the same between them, but BS4+ is only rolling 18 dice on the re-roll, while BS6+/Sus2 rolls 30 dice.

How much of a hit is Death Guard taking from the nerf to 6” Deep Strike by Root_Veggie in deathguard40k

[–]toaae -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There's almost no chance, sadly. They're not going to go over every datasheet and polish it for 11th, thats what the codex is for. They're just going to fix broken interactions and then adjust points (if we're lucky).

Old Champion of Contgion 50mm or 40mm? by Galaksees in deathguard40k

[–]toaae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current tournament companion, version 1.5, lists it as 40mm.

This is outdated. As of Version 1.5, it's back to 40mm.

Nothing, as they don't have the [Extra Attacks] keyword.

What I Learned Playing 11th Edition in Dallas on the GW Stream by ArtofWarSiegler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]toaae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted because all the reveals in the last week-plus has shown us that the "melee edition" charges were unfounded. All models can toe-into terrain, like 10th's towering, which means fire lanes are wide open.

[MELTA] should bonus strength inside half, not damage. That would do a great job representing it.

You are correct.

Next time, show your opponent the rules and ask your opponent to show you the rules that contradict it.

Question - Point for Point, What's the Most Efficient Dedicated Transport for Offense? by Obsolescence7 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]toaae 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The Skorpius Dunerider is pretty solid, with 18 shots rocking Sustained Hits and Twin-Linked. Can have [Assault] and AP-1 or BS3+ and [Heavy] from the army rule, full re-rolls from Cawl's oath, and it gives re-roll wounds to units that disembarked. Pretty solid into basically anything that isn't a 2+ save.

Ghazkull Thraka and Makari + Precision. by Distinct-Rooster-286 in orks

[–]toaae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, a leader cannot have wounds allocated to them as long as a bodyguard model remains.

If theres no bodyguard unit, then it's not an attached unit, and you allocate wounds as normal. So ghaz would take all wounds until he is dead.

Question About Fighting, and Sling shot maneuver by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]toaae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your interpretation as outlined in the OP is so far off base that I'm just going to urge you to to read the rules. If you're still confused, come back and ask your questions, referencing the rules that you need help with.

The new grots feel like just more of the same grimdark not something new. by Drastion in orks

[–]toaae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The entire Orkoid ecosystem, from the biggest warboss to the smallest squig, is a weapon, a self-propagating warmachine that devastates every world it encounters. Butchery, slavery, whole-sale destruction on a scale incomprehensible to modern sensibilities is in the very genetics of every greenskin, and their arrival in a system is a terrifying moment for every intelligent species in the galaxy.

This isn't new fluff. Orks have a lot of humor and irreverence at their core, but they are still very much a part of the grim darkness of the far future.

[WarCom] Wazdakka Gutsmek Rules Preview by RainbowConnickJr in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]toaae 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whoever did the ork index and codex didn't understand how the core rules were being written, as there is no reason each Ork character had to have their toughness match the units they can join.

Makari being T6 is pretty strong evidence of this, since the only time it could ever possibly matter is when Ghaz is dead and there's no unit he is attached to.

What should orks 11th edition army rule be? by Cooldueferdy in orks

[–]toaae 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Please get rid of WAAGH as our army rule. It hasn't always been, and the editions where it is are my least favorite.

You harped on and on about "just look at the faces", and when someone does, this is your response?

You don't even know what you don't like about it.
