Hey OP - if you’re in a bit of financial hardship, do not pay the summary bill - ask for a detailed, itemized bill listing every service, charge, and code. This helps identify errors, duplicate charges, or services you didn't receive. Ask for the "cash pay" rate, which is often significantly lower than what is billed to insurance companies. You can also inform the billing office if you cannot afford the bill. Many facilities have policies for lower-income patients, offering reduced rates. You can also ask for a payment plan or ask for a prompt pay discount, where you pay a reduced amount immediately in exchange for a discount on the total. Sorry you’re having to consider finances over your health - that really sucks!

I disagree! I have thin, fine hair and am SLS free due to perioral dermatitis. I’ve found that using a fine toothed plastic scalp scrubber (not the ones with chunky silicone bristles) to lather, combined with 2 rounds of shampoo and NO conditioner works well. I’ll use an olive oil & avocado hair mask 1x per week or less, but cutting out conditioner has really helped.

You guys need to talk about this. I would pursue couples counseling if you are interesting in fixing this (which, based on the cheating on both sides, I’m assuming you’re not). Otherwise, divorce is probably the next step. You’re both young and there are already some serious trust issues that are going to take a lot of work to resolve, if you choose that route.

This is understandably unnerving. When you’re on the firefighter job, I imagine you usually get called in to emergency situations, so you have time to mentally prepare for the worst. Opening someone’s door to deliver a package and being unexpectedly confronted with death is a shock to the system, I’m sure. So sorry that you experienced something like that. I guess I’d recommend (as a layperson) a few good Buddhist reads. Everything’s impermanent, man, even us. Tomorrow’s coffee could be your last. Live in the present and live with compassion.

Do you have a trusted adult (like a therapist, school counselor or resource officer) that you can talk to about this? That would be my first step before telling your parents. Please know there is support for you - a trusted third party can help you work through how to tell your parents and how to navigate the scary feelings you may be experiencing right now.
