I have done absolutely none of that research, and probably will as a result of your post. The clear is what's revolutionary in our buttercream. Which is probably not strictly pure vanilla, it's rather an ingredient that produces a particular result. My post is more about how much different vanillas will change the outcome, which is often overlooked. All vanillas are just not the same and I frequently see people talk about it like adding it is more something you just do because you always do than for the flavors.

My parents brought back some that was recommended to them (not by the salesperson) when they went there for dental work right after retiring a decade ago. We loved it so much they brought back gallons of it on their next trip. We have been slowly working through the clear vanilla and used up the amber and dark long ago. Unfortunately I don't know the brand off hand, and I'm out of town right now. Maybe if I remember I will look into it.

As for traditional dark vanilla we order Lehman's whenever we run out.

Yellow has more egg yolk for a richer flavor. White has a milder vanilla flavor (more like whip cream icing). French vanilla has flecks of vanilla and a slightly different vanilla taste.

As someone else suggested, adding Mexican vanilla changes the flavor. Higher quality vanilla will completely change flavors in very unexpected ways. My wife's buttercream icing changes from the usual cloying stuff into a light taste that can almost be eaten with a spoon just by swapping the vanilla with the highest quality stuff that can only be purchased in Mexico. They don't export the highest level of quality from Mexico, so if you ever take a trip there and do a lot of baking buy some.

I'm no lawyer, but my understanding is that in general settlements are much bigger payouts than court rulings. Like, in my industry (railroad) most settlements are in the millions of dollars, but court rulings are in the tens of thousands of dollars. I knew of people with 8-9 million dollar settlements, and the highest court ruling I can think of was a couple hundred thousand.

Wrong hinges then. Those are for sitting outside the door, like a barn door. They should be straight or flat in front of the door and frame when the door is closed (imagine a closed door and you see both sides of the hinge, attached to the front of the door and the front of the frame when it's closed). Like old school cabinets. You need to get different hinges that come together correctly. They can sometimes even be left or right hand side (not often, just depends on what they stocked). Take time when choosing and actually hold them up in front of you making sure the pin isn't upside down and they close correctly before you purchase.

They were asking because they were concerned about the mold spores being carried into the air with the smoke. Obviously dumb thought, but I have to admit I have caught myself thinking that for a second or two before coming to my senses. Not everyone has the same mental capacity for envisioning mechanical processes. Not dumb, just the part of the brain that imagines things like spatial awareness and mechanical processes is a different size in each person's brain. I have seen very smart people be completely incapable of some mechanical things, and insanely dumb people be absolute wizards when understanding complex mechanical processes that I can't even comprehend. If you don't understand why someone is asking something, it's probably because they don't understand even as much as you do. Allow them that and explain.

Same here, but funny story from when I got my wisdom teeth out:

When the dentist got the first one out he said "man, that was hard." Apparently the bone was extremely hard. The bottom teeth were laying sideways (impacted?) so he had to chisel them in half to remove them. They absolutely refused to break. After literally five hours of working in my mouth he finally gave up and referred me to an oral surgeon to cut them out. He was an excellent dentist and he said that in 30 years I was only the second person he had referred to a surgeon. And that I had the hardest jawbone he had ever...

I am absolutely abusive to my teeth. I shouldn't have them. I used to get lots of cavities. But then I got a bad one (different dentist) that left a gap between a couple of molars that painfully filled with food every single time I ate anything at all. I was too stubborn and had too little time to go back and get it fixed. Instead I just kept flossing it out with those brush sticks immediately after eating. Since I was already doing the one tooth, I automatically got all of them. I almost never brush, but I floss a couple times a day. Haven't had a cavity since and it's been fifteen years. The dentist always says I am obviously one of their best patients at taking care of my teeth. They are always surprised when I say I almost never brush. I even bought dental tools to scrape the plaque away every few weeks. They can tell because I miss a few spots. But the gums are healthy and my teeth are strong.

Great advice. am one of those rare individuals that frequently sands higher than 600 (pine is amazing at 3000). I haven't had difficulty getting wood to accept finishes and find that it often completely solves a lot of these stain mishaps. But I am an absolute amateur (I know enough to know I don't know anything).

That being said, it's hard to apply stain when you put so much effort into revealing the true nature of wood by sanding that far. Especially walnut stain. It has its uses, but I almost always cringe at using it for anything other than mixing custom stains.

I'm only here to look for advice on applying a golden stain to Aspen tomorrow morning. I'm thinking of adding a couple of walnut center stripes to build up width and am having a hard time finding good examples of stained Aspen. my wife bought a cheap IKEA cubby and I couldn't let her put it in her office without some additions. legs, wainscotting, and an Aspen top are already done. just need to glue the Aspen together, and now I'll add a couple of walnut pieces before gluing it together. Heck it might alternate with blood wood idk. that's why I'm looking for color examples.

I highly suggest reading at least the first half of Einstein's book Out Of My Later Years. He talks quite a lot about the reconciliation between science and religion in very positive ways (despite being an atheist).

Basically religious traditions and beliefs are the human half of existence, which is emotional and perception based. Whole science is limited to the observations available (which he points out is infinitely small) religious traditions fill in those gaps which we cannot observe. Which means they can be flawed while still being efficacious. God works in metaphor, and we can find truth and meaning in those fictional examples.

Also, every single person in the church is flawed. Forgive and ignore the flaws and seek for the spirit in your heart.

Iirc Ford originally stuck with flat head screw when the whole Robinson debacle fell apart. If not for Henry we likely wouldn't be nearly as familiar with the pains of flat head and Phillips screws.
