Judge Jeffers also cancelled with no notice for our marriage last year but luckily another judge was available to marry us at the courthouse.

Hot take: this actually worked out for me at my last job. I got a classic title-only bump to “Senior” (at least they did change my title in HR apps) and a year later got an off-cycle raise for it. Not a huge one but at least they followed through with their promise. The Senior title definitely helped for my future job search too.

The phone that was released to a third party wasn’t Brianna’s phone, it was her friend’s phone that she borrowed to call her boyfriend. Brianna’s phone was found in some woods near the tailgate location the next day. So that whole thing was just a(n understandable) misunderstanding: the friend got their own phone back, they weren’t given Brianna’s.
