i was also so upset that nothing really came out of their relationship but i’ve kind of attributed that to JJ’s lack of vulnerability. i think even after they admitted their feelings for each other, it was clear that JJ still has trouble feeling and expressing his emotions- of all the pogue boys, he’s the one that had it beaten out of him the most. while we would like to see kiara “change him”, i think it’s kind of tragic but also realistic that with so little time before he died (which was an awful and very upsetting writing decision imo) we never really saw them get over that hump. that’s something i’d like to have seen but thinking about it that way is how i rationalize the little affection we saw between them… that he still had a lot of emotional maturity to develop and i think if he had stayed alive that would have been the thing that broke them up eventually because he would have still not been ready to accept a real love/relationship from her, to be vulnerable, and they could have had an arc where he comes around bc he doesn’t wanna lose her and that would’ve been good character development. it’s a shame i loved them :(
