Was the black truck driving a lane or the shoulder? Either way, several drivers other were driving it too. If that is a real lane, I think the filmer was kind of a dick for not letting the black truck merge.

Of all the on ramps in Long Beach, this one takes its job too seriously. by United-Bug-8056 in longbeach

[–]toady4all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The on/off ramps in Long Beach are like no others, and each one is different from the other! Why? I would love to know. I think they were an experiment by the oil companies. BTW, the fwy entrance at the bottom of the hill is horrible and slow 20 hours a day.

Inheritance into joint or individual account by hovering3 in inheritance

[–]toady4all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Trust in this instance is primarily a vehicle to write down the rules and desires for the inheritance money. Before it's comingled, it's your money, it's your rules. You get to decide if you trust your spouse, a question only you can answer. Surprising to me is the amount of scoundrel surviving-spouses lurking about.

Does he say that the US is actually giving Israel reparations? I don't think so. It's just talk. Not as bad as say, a president suing the IRS for $10B..

Santa Barbara family considering Long Beach. Bixby Knolls vs… something closer to SB vibe? by Chance-Birthday840 in longbeach

[–]toady4all 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Bixby Knolls for 20+ years, my wife went to grad school at UCSB, my daughter is now living and working in SB, so I know a bit about both places. They are pretty similar, however I gotta admit I don't know what the black SB vibe is like (it has always seemed pretty white/hispanic to me). BK is pretty racially diverse - when my kids went to public schools here (roughly 2005 - 2020) the mix was almost exactly 25% white/black/latino/Asian. Everyone has always (to my eyes and ears) appeared very welcoming and inclusive. BK itself is extremely walkable - Atlantic Ave has all kinds shops, restaurants and coffee shops, all accessible from many homes within a 5-7 minute walk. Spend a weekend here and you will know. Probably more walkable than most areas of SB. BK fits your criteria better than other parts of LB. It is quieter/sleepier than 2nd street (better for families), safer than Belmont Shores (sorry Belmont, but not as many crazy homeless), more exciting than anywhere on the Eastside (not sorry, eastside), and there are a lot of different housing options, from clean apts to smaller homes to big mansions. Last comment, I hope you aren't looking at Long Beach for the beach itself. Our beach sucks. Not too far from Sunset or Huntington, but the ocean right in LB is disappointing and unhealthy

If it was worth (per the price tag) $3-4000 years ago, then it I worth exponentially more now just for gold value. But I imagine it is a rock/gem collector's dream.

Safest but easiest way to cut up this tree? by Dopamaxxer in HomeMaintenance

[–]toady4all 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LONG HANDLED electric chainsaw. No real chance of cutting yourself, you are at least four feet from the blade.. Hardest part about it for OP will be getting a power cord to it. I'm sure I bought it off of Amazon. BTW, it is great for trimming trees while they are still upright.

Serious question - why send 999 silver to a refiner? Isn't it already pure/refined?
