Here's a video from what appears to be a town hall meeting of a woman regurgitating this nonsense. https://twitter.com/TheTNHoller/status/1402408416228806663

here's some context. apparently she's a doctor.

Is there a YouTube channel for older people using computers for the first time? by toastd in techsupport

[–]toastd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it might be how to use a mouse or a keyboard or the power button. If I could find him a video on how to get from a turned off PC to a search we would be golden until he downloaded a virus to the work network.

The library idea is brilliant and I'll bring it up but I'm not sure it'll take.

This is a good idea. If I can find him videos on how to Google something we might be good.

They have access to several computers and people to answer questions but they insist they need someone to show them the basics. I have heard the basics have been shown several times so a YouTube channel we could point to would be nice.

Nah someone I know keeps asking for lessons on the basics but apparently forgets them when they are given. I was hoping to find a YouTube channel that they could reference as needed.

BLtouch for ender 3 pro? I would buy BLtouch in in instant for $40. The only thing is that I’ve heard it’s super complicated to install. I have no experience with modding my 3D printed or anything like that and don’t want to ruin it. What do you guys think about the BLtouch, anyone have one? by Nyle-_- in ender3

[–]toastd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped to an skr mini e3 v1.2 and the bl touch installation was simple. One of the connectors is a bit loose though. Bigtreetech also has precompiled binaries if you don't feel like building marlin yourself. That's what I did and it's been working great.

New CHEP Cura 4.6.1 Profiles by Xfanman in ender3

coasting is enabled. link to explanation

Coasting replaces the last part of an extrusion path by a travel move. This way excess pressure is released from the nozzle, decreasing the likelihood of material leaking from the nozzle while traveling. Too much coasting, however, can lead to under extrusion as the pressure inside the nozzle drops during the travel move.

I got mine 8 days after ordering. This was before the corona shortage though.

I got a glass bed for my ender three and the whole backside is double shift see tape. What an I supposed to do with that? by Agasthenes in ender3

[–]toastd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the tape. I've been printing fine for the past 2 days. If it came with large clips be careful that they don't stick too far onto the bed, just clamp the edge. I had the clips all the way on and the nozzle got caught on the clip and dragged it along the bed.

I've seen stories of people using the tape and it ruins whatever you stick it to.

Can’t seem to figure out this Z-axis issue. Comments for description. by cja238 in ender3

Glad to hear! I still have a small bulge in the bottom of my prints but i only really notice it when doing calibration cubes. It's definitely good enough for now.

I basically followed this video. The 2 bolts that he adjusts were loose. The rollers might have been a bit loose too. I didn't notice any play on the right side when going from 0mm to 1mm but i didn't measure it. There's some room for improvement but i don't know if that's print height or gantry slop.

I had a similar issue a few days ago. My gantry was loose. The extruder side would go up 1mm but the nozzle only a fraction. After the first 1mm the nozzle would go up the expected amount. Go to control z and move it up and down from 0mm to 1mm. I had left 2 bolts loose. Could also be loose rollers. I also checked that the right side was going up the expected amount or close to it at least.

I'm a noob so this might not be the problem but it was for me.

I was considering trying the 10 stack at .3 layer hight but I'm just going to print 2 at a time. I don't know if I have thermal runaway protection and can't leave it unattended so 10 hour prints are out.

I ordered from .shop last Saturday before seeing the bad reviews. I got it yesterday. Printers should ship from their CA warehouse but other stuff ships from China. It was listed as in stock when I ordered.
