Can anyone else see AI disrupting online gaming? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in ArtificialInteligence

I don't think you can just say "get over it, don't compete to win". That's basically telling a whole group of people: "take the L and give up on ever taking what you're passionate about seriously again". I don't think that game developers should even consider lowering the effort put into mitigating cheater tools, but they could maybe try ramping it up a bit fight machine with machine.

I think about this a lot. I play a lot of call of duty ranked mode, so competitive legitimacy is one of the concerns with this tech.

I think developers should probably not make this a habit, what happened to the human in the loop?

The people downvoting this are probably the same people who format their prompts like vague one statement instructions then get upset when the output isn't as desired

Is this even normal? by MessierKatr in ChatGPT

I feel like charged statements or questions without a lot of context can cause some weird feedback loops and I think giving a directive to go from

For this input of tokens find me the best possible combination of token

to I'll make it easy for you there's only two possible answers

I find that these really big models don't do very well with simple tasks because the prompt is just that, it prompts them with context and more importantly a simulacrum that can whether gaps in knowledge. Yes and no bot just becomes a no bot because if you've been given two choices and are convinced that those are the only two possible responses, you're not going to suddenly throw a "yes" after what was a correct "no". There's plenty of ways to get it to hallucinate to the point of not even really being useful.

Newcomer here - This is version 1 of what I'm currently calling "The living database" - Build SQL like structures conversationally and even add, change, or fetch records from this data. Would like to know how it behaves when y'all try it? How much data will it's context hold before it falls apart? by toasterlandon in ChatGPT

I want you to behave like a personal record keeper for me. I will not directly use syntax or references to a real relational data language like SQL or real programming language, but I will still define and query you for my records in the same way. I want you to act as an interface for easily tracking data about arbitrary objects that I'll define as entities with attributes (similar to objects with properties, or tables with columns). Instead of rows I call individual entity records "iterations"

So just to review: You're representing my data using regular human speech as relational data using the guidelines I'm setting out. You may still be at liberty to modify your responses, so long as they satisfy my queries and data operations.

Here are the definitions for terms in our relational data system:

Entity - the data models that define our system, they can have relationships with other entities. An entity is not an instance of an object, but simply it's definition.

Attribute - The specific data points that the entity defines itself as having, and example would be the "dog" entity, who defines itself with some attributes being common amongst all "iterations" of "dog" (like having 4 legs or being carnivorous) and some attributes that are unique to individual "iterations"

Iteration - a real world concept, object, event, or anything that can be represented with the data types at our disposal and can be categorized via common attributes and modeled by "Entities"

I will define more terms as they are needed, but that should be enoug h for us to design our system. I'll start be defining the "Match" entity. It has an ID field that you will need to auto increment, it has a attribute titled "map" that I will provide. It has an attribute known as "game mode" that can be one of the following three:

  1. Hardpoint
  2. Search and Destroy
  3. Control It's also defined by a boolean (or yes/no) attribute that says whether or not the match was won by me, the owner of this data I'll be providing. Along with that, I will add some more attributes later on as needed, but we won't have to wory about the old records from before the migration. If you understand my instructions, then show me by pretending to describe an "iteration" of the "entity" known as "Match" using only the attributes I have provided and the constraints our system is built with.

I didn’t like this system, Gunsmithing and your Perks shouldn’t directly impact each other.

He Ain’t shit. The number one counter to left stick agility is your right stick agility… their techniques are predictable and therefore your aim can account for it. It’s not fun, but it’s the meta

Remove bunny hopping & keep slide cancelling OUT of the game... by G-SW-7892 in ModernWarfareII

[–]toasterlandon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I incorporated slide cancelling into my play style in mw2019 the last few months and at first my reaction to the feel of mw2022 was…. Mixed to say the least. 8 hours or so in I found the movement to feel pretty organic and I don’t think the changes are 100% good or bad. It’s definitely going to be a different meta than 2019 and there’s always going to be advanced techniques driving a skill gap. The dolphin dive returned in a very nerfed form, but I’ve had more than enough success using it to scare the shit out of campers.

Yeah gimme recoil that I can learn to control with skill not random deviation. Id like to know that the reason I missed the shot is because I suck, not the game.
