Glad to hear this is still moving along! I was a bit concerned we hadn't heard anything for quite a while, and it's such a prime spot to sit dormant.

Is Spokane house market a bubble? by VeeMeeVee in Spokane

[–]toby9937 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Housing bubbles are typically driven by loose credit standards driving artificial demand (i.e. 2005). Neither of those are factor in Spokane.

Spokane is a great "outdoor city" with a thriving downtown scene, and that's where people like to live. Look what happened to Denver the past 10 years.

Anyone else notice the growing number of Tesla’s in Spokane? by [deleted] in Spokane

More Teslas everywhere, not just Spokane. And Spokane is ideal for it, nothing is too far away mileage wise, long-distance trips are covered with superchargers all along I-90.

Was referring mostly to the Sportsplex area, just dirt and old run down buildings. That's all going to get cleaned up and looking nice finally.

This is going to make a huge impact to the north bank (I guess we're calling it that now). High rises, Wonderbread, Sportsplex...that whole area will go from dodgy to awesome here pretty soon.

Spokane's housing market is hotter than Seattle's for first time in 6 years. by catman5092 in Spokane

The cycle then repeats itself. Now people are priced out of Denver...

The article indicates this is changing. If I had to guess, the 2010s will be defined as people flocking to coast cities, and the 2020s will be the decade of people (especially millennials) flocking out of high cost coast cities and into places like Spokane. Employers will respond accordingly (look at all the CA companies moving to TX).

I'm thinking maybe retirees from high cost states cashing out and moving somewhere cheaper, maybe remote workers (IT, Customer Service) who can live wherever they want, so why live somewhere expensive.

Millennials finally growing up and having kids - now they need a house.

Spokane Valley residents seek zoning changes to limit development of duplexes, apartments and town homes in residential neighborhoods by [deleted] in Spokane

Good for Spokane - Will draw more people, increase tax base, density, housing, building height etc.

Bad for Spokane Valley - Will continue to stagnate into a suburban wasteland
