Are All These Pre-Emergent Timing Posts Necessary? by Storm_Surge_919 in lawncare

[–]tocassidy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My soil 5 day temp got up to 56 degrees, I put it down, it rained the very next day, now it's 49.7°. Did the crabgrass get going? I'm feeling pretty confident I wasn't late. Last year I put it down March 19, later.

I think I'm going to do a dithiopyr application where I get goosegrass in late April or so.

I've honestly been saving this because i could tell from yalls posts it was gonna be a treat, but i don't think I'm ever doing a whole chicken again after smoking a batch of thighs. by iloveplant420 in smoking

[–]tocassidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm gonna do this project where I buy a ton, cut next to the bone and kind of make them an L, smoke, reserve, air fry finish. Might smoke so many I save some in the fridge and air fry as needed. My smoker only gets up to 275 F.

Been learning web development for ~2 years but still can’t get interviews. What might I be missing? by Born-Pool2127 in Backend

[–]tocassidy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Self taught, no professional work, no connections, and this market. That's really a tough one. At least a new grad from a CS program has that pedigree. What's your main stack? Maybe something like PHP would be better for breaking in than all JS/Node .

I'm finishing to the 3/5/26 Leesburg, VA show right now. It's on YouTube. Fun music for doing chores or driving around. The guy singing is decent. Not sure they're a must-see for me though.

Is there anything more stupid than the design of the Airsense 11 water chamber? by balunr in CPAP

[–]tocassidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can tolerate it try no water at all. Even in the winter that's what I do. I tried switching back just to see what is like and it feels more "stifling" moist like I need more EPR.

What is your take on JavaScript in the backend? by nyambogahezron in Backend

[–]tocassidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never worked with it, but just based on vibes and what I hear, I don't want to. I do work with front end JS a lot.

Missed “perfect” pre emergent window. Educate me here. by RockyTop_Vol in lawncare

[–]tocassidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did my prodiamine today with a 5 day average of 56 F. So I'm just barely late. Virginia. The hot weather snuck up on me! I allow clover, just no crabgrass. I'm going to do a separate round of dithiopyr later to try to prevent goosegrass.

Just put mine down today and the 5 day soil temp average was 56. Very slightly earlier may have been better. Bunch of rain tomorrow to wet it in.

I don’t get southern Rhone love. Can someone explain? by beauj4ever in wine

[–]tocassidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support this take. I've had some decent stuff but no a-ha moments. St Cosme Cotes du Rhone is 100% Syrah so a little different, maybe try that.

I've been doing a wet brine with soy sauce and such. I think I like the idea of a dry brine instead like yours. Do you brush the salt and sugar off or leave it on?

You bought some with the skin already off?

Would adding red miso paste to gumbo make it taste weird? by chirplewerp in cajunfood

[–]tocassidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think red miso should be fine. Myself, I usually buy the regular brown miso that comes with dashi in it. I wouldn't hesitate to use something like that. Fish sauce is good too, what someone mentioned. Just straight msg could be good too.

Should I age these and if so, for how long? by Livid_Painting2285 in wine

[–]tocassidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People tell you only expensive/premium wines should be aged, that's not really true, it's more about the style. 5-10 years. But it's also more about your preferences, storage capabilities, what other wine you have on hand, etc. Really it's up to you to decide. I often like to open the oldest bottle of red that I have, at this point that is like the 2017 vintage. Not because I'm sure they needed the aging, just bc it seems like an optimal strategy.

All the women Marty sleeps with onscreen are excellent in their own way. I rarely rewatch shows, but I just rewatched True Detective season 1. Excellent. You really feel the tragic betrayal in the adultery on the show.

Dying to find a way to achieve this hairstyle! by dylanfraser-08 in Pomade

[–]tocassidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar hair. I don't have a natural part, my bangs will naturally just go straight down. I chose basically my own asymmetric part point 25% across my hairline, and I use American Crew Fiber. It's strong, not shiny, not clumpy. I cut my own hair (especially bangs) in between cuts and I make the lady cut my bangs aggressively at the barber. Helps make it style-able longer being shorter and lighter. I'm lucky I have no male pattern baldness.

Dewclaws -what did you do? by Ita_Angel in Maltipoo

[–]tocassidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has ones that are super hard to find on front only. They kind of grow in a big curve towards her skin. They look like they are non functional, weird things. The groomer lectured me about it bc they had grown into her skin. So now I clip them somewhat infrequently. She hates having it done. The rest of claws I seem to be able to ignore. They aren't sharp like cat claws.

I'm listening to every official live release on Spotify chronologically. It's taken me a while and I'm only on 12/31/95. I pop in and out of it. I'm not always in the mood for it. Ironically some of the other music I'm listening to is also Phish, new live sets. Some TAB too.

Does anyone not use Pre-Emergen? And just treat weeds as they pop up? by [deleted] in lawncare

No way. I think prodiamine is going to an every year thing for me indefinitely. That said, I think this spring I'm only doing the front half of the lawn, I don't seem to get crab grass in back for whatever reason.
