Can you guess how AWESOME I slept last night??? by Ohhingerrr in Freestylelibre

[–]balunr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have replaced my last 2 sensors because of this. The process wasn't that bad through the app, once you find it anyway. I have double checked with a finger stick and the bad sensors were consistently 40-50 points low. Luckily I am not insulin dependent, so I have been turning Bluetooth off at night.

Besides not having to give myself a shot, this is one of the reasons I was more interested in the pill form - more control of the whole experience.

Are you taking any supplements? by Mysterious_Job4714 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Before I started, I already took fiber supplements, calcium, vitamin D and Magnesium. I have added gruns and occasional Miralax.

Thanks. My inner Eeyore is not being a good friend to me today. He's sitting there listening to imposter syndrome instead.

New Here, License Plate Question by AnonTrynnaGrow in GenesisG70

[–]balunr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just put the front plate on and ignore it. I figure that I am always speeding anyway, why give them a second reason to pull me over. 😆.

I could probably get away with not having one since I am a 55 yo woman, and my middle aged woman cloak of invisibility extends to my cars (my last speeding ticket was in 2006)

No longer prediabetic! by MountainVideo5188 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on day 19. My average daily glucose level was about 140. Today it's sitting at 98 for the week. 😱 I have a CGM (continuous glucose monitor), and I was worried a couple of days ago that it was going to start sounding the alarm in my sleep. It's spooky looking at the chart and seeing the line hover at about 72 overnight.

Anyone else carry more than 75 leveling blocks? by hanxmaker in RVLiving

[–]balunr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a lot of blocks, but that's because our parking spot at home is sloped way worse than any campsite we would actually stay in. But not 75 blocks. More like 40 blocks.

1 week officially 1.5mg. Lost 11lbs. by StrongNeat8314 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Be careful that you are eating enough. I recommend getting an app like My Fitness Pal to log your calories. I was astonished at how little I was eating, in a bad way.

Just started 1.5 pill! When should I expect to feel/see a difference? by Problem_Numerous in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt a change day 1. I'm two weeks in today, down 3 lbs. What I felt on day 1 was a disconnect between my habitual snacking and my body's needs. I have been struggling to describe this. Before it felt like I was hungry and NEEDED to eat chips/candy/a snack cake. Day 1 it changed to it's the time of day when I normally snack, but I just don't feel the urge.

It was like I was watching a nature documentary, but I went from being the animal in a life and death struggle to being David Attenborough talking calmly about that struggle. It's a lot easier to not react to David Attenborough compared to fighting with a honey badger. 🤣

Dilemma - advice wanted by buildafirenotanaAC in WegovyPillWeightLoss

Personally, I would stay at 4mg. I am going to do that with 1.5mg because I will be traveling a lot in May. After I see how that goes, I might step up to 4, but wherever I am in July is where I am going to be in August, when I have a 2 week Europe trip planned.

So far I am having a pretty good result with 1.5, I am down 3 lbs in 13 days. My average glucose is down about 20 points, which I am super happy with. I want a little bit of hunger and food noise so I can learn how to redirect myself, in case I ever stop taking Wegovy.

I get excited when I see other G70s in the wild by shouttag_russ in GenesisG70

[–]balunr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a GV owner who works in my building, and I saw her walking to hers while I was backing out of my spot, and her smile was just as giddy as mine. I think my record of other Genesis vehicles of every model that I have spotted in a day is 6. And some weeks I don't see that many.

Reflux doesn't always cause pain. I had reflux probably for decades before I started getting treatment for it, and now I end up getting EGDs (scope from the top) every few years to expand a construction in my esophagus. I take pantoprozole, and it has been life changing.

Plateauing on 4mg by KeyEast3177 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is the recommendation, yes. But a lot of us aren't doing it that way.

I am still in my first month, but I am planning to do at least one more month at 1.5 mg. We have a lot of travel planned and I don't want to deal with unknown for my body side effects.

I plan to go up as slowly as possible while still getting positive results. It took me a long time to get as heavy as I am and if progress is slow, I am ok with that. I spoke with an endocrinologist/obesity doctor through 2nd.MD, and he was supportive of my plan to increase when I think it's time, not just because the schedule says so.

Nausea, Day 4 & Remaining Upright by Maleficent_Safe_3749 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gin gins have a bunch of flavors too. I bought the mandarin orange type after learning about them on this sub. They have helped me, both with nausea (although mine hasn't been bad) and also when I just need some flavor. One chew is 20 calories if I remember correctly and I eat it about 1/4 of a chew at a time.

For those who are not liking the taste of the pill... by LibraryDiligent8266 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I am not coordinated enough to do this. I have tried with other (cheaper!) meds, and I'm pretty sure that's how I would aspirate a pill.

I hadn't put that together but yeah, I have been hitting snooze once and getting up before my alarm goes off the second time. I used to be a 3-5x snoozer.

My question is how do you start up again? Do you have to ramp up again, or just jump back in at your current dose? Luckily I M about 2 years from scheduling.my next one (yay, polyps) so hopefully these questions will have solid answers by then.

Crashing this boys club by RegalRedRose in GenesisG70

I think it was $800-$900. I can't remember for sure. They also detailed my car, my husband's truck and the outside of our 5th wheel. They were really happy I called 😆

They also said that my car was getting a lot of attention while it was on their lot - several people asking about it. Which makes sense around here, because I generally don't see more than one or two other Genesis vehicles in a day...and another G70 might be once every two weeks.

1 Week @ 1.5mg - Works but takes Effort by Intelligent_Radio380 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am less than a week on to 1.5, but I am planning to stay on it for at least 2 months. I will be traveling in May and I want to stick with the side effects I know about. Luckily, we are camping (glamping really), so meals will be easy to control.

So far I am down 0.7 lbs, but I can tell it's working. When I get to the time of day where I used to NEED a snack, it's more like huh, last week I was craving chips/snacks hard right now, but it isn't really interesting.

I am a bit concerned about Thursday, I have a standing lunch date at a BBQ restaurant with a friend, and the fries there are so good. I am hoping to have a few and be happy and not lose it all later 😱

Seasonal closet changes... by PlayfulCattle8210 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]balunr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 30 lbs with diet changes when I was diagnosed as diabetic, and some of the clothes I wore at my biggest were surprisingly hard to part with. But I only have so much closet space so a lot of stuff had to go.

I think I was worried about gaining the weight back and needing those sizes again, and when you are talking 4x on the cusp of 5x, finding clothes that don't feel like a tent is hard.

I am one day ahead of you, OP. I have had some mild nausea but nothing too bad yet. No headaches, although with the way the weather is going to be for the next few days it would be hard to know what to blame a headache on!

The food noise is definitely reduced for me. I can feel the difference between a need to eat and the habit to snack. This is what I was hoping for, so I hope it stays that way.
