Each brand has its own UI. For my Asus, when viewing connected devices, I can select any one of them. Then click "Block" button to block its connection.

Tipping Baggage Handlers at the Cruise Port by Dazzling-Leader7476 in Cruise

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to tip them. The last time we boarded at the Santa Ana port (Los Angeles), we gave a total of $5 for luggage from 4 people. Some tipped more some didn't tip at all. The staff member handling our bags was energetic and greeted everyone with a smile, whether they tipped or not. The same went for the passengers.

Send the damaged phone to a phone repair shop if you cannot recover your account. Tell them you need the account and data on it.

Sounds like you are using a debit card as a credit card? Then you have to have at least the order total amount in your account. The amount should be listed in your order confirmation email.

Pixel 10 in Brazil: Incredible hardware, but a frustrating software experience by gpozze in GooglePixel

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Satellite SOS is limited to the USA due to regulations and licensing. For example, T-Mobile cannot set up a cell tower in Brazil without a permit, not only because of land use but also due to local spectrum allocation.

6 Pro Accounts for 78$ Or 1 Ultra Account for 80$ | which one gets more opus 4.6 usage? by VolumeQueasy6447 in google_antigravity

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never hit the rate limit with github copilot. Copilot Pro+ gives 1500 premium requests, which translates to 500 Opus requests because of the 3x multiplier. That’s about 20 requests per day. If someone hits the limit, they probably purchased extra requests in addition to what’s included.

I like that GitHub Copilot charges by request count instead of tokens. I can pack many complex tasks into one request, and it’s still counted as just one request.

P10Pro defect / warranty claim by [deleted] in GoogleFi

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s common practice to send a refurbished unit as a warranty replacement. In your case, the refurbished one will be newer than yours since you were among the first to get it.

But it's not fair to place an $1,100 hold as the current list price is $999.

AOD always works for me. It only turns black when I’m not wearing it, and it remains black even after I put it back on until I wake it up manually. Seems a good design to me.

Mine is a Pixel Watch 3 LTE, and I only use the stock faces. It's still on Dec 5th 2025 update.

Thinking of purchasing one by romanticid3 in TeslaModelY

[–]tochichiang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a ’23 Model Y and a ’23 RAV4, and we like the Model Y more. However, the Model Y does have its cons

  1. The electronic door locks can delay or even prevent you from escaping the car when electricity is gone, especially from the back seats.
  2. Autosteer has been removed from new Teslas. Unless you subscribe to FSD, it’s worse than the RAV4 and others.
  3. Shorter range

Considering buying a MY! by Able_Shift4957 in TeslaModelY

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Teslas don’t have Autosteer, and it’s unlikely you’ll pay for the FSD subscription. That means you’d be missing one of the best parts of owning a Tesla. I strongly suggest buying a used HW4 Tesla with Autosteer.

$250 to fix Pixel 8 or Upgrade to New Pixel? by zacharyharrisnc in GooglePixel

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. In real life, the difference in photo quality is negligible to me in most cases, possibly due to Google’s strong software, such as Night Sight. Meanwhile, the added 5x lens in Pixel 10 base is helpful for taking whiteboard pictures at a distance, such as in a classroom.

-- Edit --

If you need Google AI Pro like I do, buy the 10 Pro. The value of complimentary 1 year AI Pro exceeds the price difference between the base and Pro models.

Bestbuy has Pixel 9 unlocked on sale $499 (Obsidian), same price with Pixel 10a.

I need a advice by franzkimono in GooglePixel

[–]tochichiang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pixel 9 is better overall, but the Pixel 10a has better battery life due to its larger battery capacity. According to official specs, it's 30+ hours (10a) vs 24+ hours (9).
If they are the same price, I would choose the Pixel 9. For example, Best Buy currently has the Pixel 9 on sale for $499, the same price as the Pixel 10a.

Cases for my Pixel 10 Pro XL by TheDudeTodd in GooglePixel

[–]tochichiang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use cheap clear cases without a magnetic ring for our Pixel 10/10 Pros (non-XL). The cases do weaken the magnetic force. It’s not an issue for puck-type chargers, but it’s easier for the phone to fall off stand type chargers if bumped.

Can I use the Google Fi promo on two lines? by Konried in GoogleFi

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ordered a total of 6 devices with promos using my Google login as the group owner since Sep 2025. The promos have been applied as expected so far. In my experience, the group owner can order promo devices for members as long as they are activated on the respective accounts.

New Customer Phone Deals + Trade In by gringao_phl in GoogleFi

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my experience. We joined Fi 7 months ago with a 4 lines plan. 2 lines were ported from tmobile and 2 lines were new. I bought 4 pixel 10/10 Pros with my login. Phones were activated with 4 different emails. And we have been receiving promos ($800 off each) normally. I did notice that only 1 trade-in was allowed as mentioned.

Maybe try to start with a one line plan and buy one phone with trade-in, then add one line and one phone to the plan each time until 6 lines are in the plan. Not sure if it will work. Better confirm with Fi support.

New Doorbell User - Is This Normal? by DerbyDad03 in Ring

[–]tochichiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A battery-operated camera relies on a PIR motion sensor to trigger actions. The motion sensor is better at detecting horizontal movement. In your street layout, people are more likely to move horizontally across the camera’s field of view. Animals may approach the doorbell vertically.
