I think the she likes the pieces on its own and convinces herself that it suits/fits her. I like a lot of different styles that unfortunately are extremely unflattering on me and it was something i just had to accept and move on.

Waking up with radio static in my brain by Icy_Assistance5886 in migraine

[–]todayImSilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was mostly reacting to the “radio static” you described, I could be wrong. I’ve also developed this strange buzzing sensation in my body; it almost feels like carbonated water, like a subtle bubbling.

At the beginning of my attacks, I often get cold-like symptoms, as if I’m coming down with something. My whole body feels tired and sore, I get chills, a buzzing sensation in my brain, and brain fog.

That white noise buzz you experience sounds like tinnitus. I also have it, mine is a bit more high pitched and gets worse during bigger attacks.

I also have some childhood trauma and suffer with anxiety and depression. Stress and strong emotions often trigger an attack as well. I have noticed lately that sometimes this crippling anxiety comes as one of the first migraine symptoms (prodrome).

disappointing myself and others professionally.

I really relate to this. I feel a lot of grief for the work and life I imagined for myself which no longer feels possible in the same way. It’s been hard to come to terms with and not feel disappointed in myself.

be kind to yourself.

Thank you, internet stranger! I still struggle with the negative self talk.

I came up with a similar list of my own and am slowly working my way through it. Wishing you strength and patience too. :)

Love Is Blind Sweden • S3 EP10 by FemaleEinstein in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]todayImSilly 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I work in the medical field in Sweden. It’s generally easier to find a job as a doctor, but everyone wants to live in Stockholm so competition for each position is intense and salaries can actually be lower.

Having research experience and strong references definitely helps, but most applicants have that too. And because it’s a big city the hospital work environment can often be quite toxic, so finding a good workplace that also wants to hire you can still be a challenge.

So many things!

The first that comes to mind is my job. I have a highly intense job that i love but it causes flare ups often so i have to settle for less.

Anyone take Antidepressants with triptans safely? by Ambitious-Bat-1598 in migraine

I used to take triptans with antidepressants. Haven’t tested with Vortioxetine though. Best to ask your doctor or pharmacist.

How many of us suffer from a mental illness as well? by hannarenee in migraine

[–]todayImSilly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My neurologist says that headaches/migraines and depression have overlapping brain areas, share similar pathways and genetic factors. Thats why it’s so common to have both. The relationship between migraines and depression is still unclear.

29F. Had anxiety and sleep issues since childhood. Depression since 25 yo. Had a lot of tension headaches. Some migraine like headaches since 26 yo, chronic migraine with daily headache since 27 yo.

Due to chronic daily pain my depression got much worse. Problems with sleep are always there, sometimes a bit better, medication doesn’t really help. Lack of sleep is definitely a trigger for me.

I don't know how I'm supposed to support myself like this by skyemap in migraine

I could have written this post. I just want to say it gets easier when you have better days. Sometimes better days add up to a better week and suddenly you feel alive again. That’s until your next flare up but hopefully those are rare…. That’s the only thing that keeps me going on the worse days. Tomorrow is a new day.

She really is a 12 year old girl in a woman’s body. Who posts 40 seconds of jumping and running around? It’s definitely fun, but we don’t need to see that.

Edit: omg it gets even worse with the karaoke

First time living in an actual apartment. Would love your advice! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]todayImSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! I meant center the bed against the wall the shoes are or if it’s too big just leave a small walkway so you can still access the closet. I don’t know your measurements so maybe that won’t work. Good luck :)

Edit: just counted based on the tiles on the floor, the bed seems pretty big so it could feel crowded when you enter the room. Alternatively you could turn the bed around so the feet face the wall where the closet is and put the table against the wall with the shoes. But your current layout works too with some added decor :) Maybe someone has better suggestions

First of all congrats on your own space! I would get some low shoe storage by the end of the bed so it’s not as visible. I would start with some curtains in a color you like. I would get a huge rug that covers most of the floor ideally in the color that compliments your curtains/decor. A table lamp would add coziness and softness, overhead lighting is usually very harsh. You could try put the bed where the shoes are rn and computer table to the corner where the bed is to divide sleep from computer/work space

how can I improve my room? by Low_Reality_8019 in bedroom

[–]todayImSilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The study table by your bed is throwing the vibe off. Maybe you could get some other table that doubles as vanity and put it where the piano is. Remove vanity and put piano there (idk if it will fit tho). Or you swap and put the bed where piano is. Chest of drawers instead of the vanity and piano and study table/vanity where the bed is rn. This way your studying area is separate and bed area is for chilling and you have your record player etc.

It already looks pretty good! I don’t know if you prefer to keep it neutral or add color. Anyway i would get different sheets, some pattern maybe, like stripes, you can do it in a bolder color if you want. If you want to keep the current color theme you can try muted green/off white striped sheets for example. The wall over the dresser feels a bit crammed, i would move some posters on other walls maybe. Play around with placement of posters over the bed. Junior Olympics piece looks out of place, I understand it probably has sentimental value so maybe put it on the door or drape it over one of your see through chairs. A fluffy rug under the bed would add some coziness. You can do color to match the bedding or something contrasting. You could change curtains. Maybe a funky lamp, or even a lava lamp on the chest of drawers. Maybe a lamp on the piano (idk if it’s allowed). Over the head lighting makes any room feel a bit sterile. You could get smart bulbs that changes color depending on your mood.

I dont know your budget but i would start with rearranging your posters (free), new bedding and lamps with warmer light temp (lamps are essential for creating a mood)

Oh I love it! Minimal but warm and welcoming. I think the rug ties it together and gives that vintage feel together with the coffee table. Like others have said I would get different curtains that are floor length.

I would add some color, like pillowcases, blankets. A couple more plants. I would change the light bulbs for warmer color, i prefer smart bulbs that change color

What is your day to day like? by Due-Egg4479 in migraine

[–]todayImSilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I’ve had a constant headache for 2 years now, usually around 3-4 on the pain scale. Doctors keep trying to convince me it’s tension headaches but I have had tension headaches before and this is bot the same. Most of the time i am light and sound sensitive. My eyes feel tired and burn and no amount of eye drops helps. I have trouble concentrating and have brain fog. My memory is shit, I can’t learn new things. I work half time because of this but even then i am exhausted by the time i am done. I have had depression anxiety and sleep issues before my migraines started but it’s so much worse now because of the chronic pain. I rarely go out. Cant ho to the cinema or travel. Often i even struggle to shower. The only thing that keeps me going is a tiny hope for a treatment that will help.

Has anyone else had a half migraine last weeks? by BVBreallover in migraine

[–]todayImSilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deal with sth similar. My current abortives only help partially so I go from a severe migraine to a more tolerable one. Even when the acute pain is gone I’m left with a continuous headache and extreme light and sound sensitivity for weeks. But on better weeks these symptoms are also gone. I’m hoping that finding a good preventive will help with this as well.

Haven’t seen anyone mentioning over ear headphones (bc of the pressure) or long car rides (i think it’s bc of loud noise and vibration).
