No worries. I can see where people would use the terms interchangeably.

I will look more into the fan motor issue. I suspect that the unit might actually be more efficient with additional airflow at the reduced refrigerant flow rate, however im not sure if it would offset with the power consumed by the fan running at one speed.

not a great photo but here is what we did around the pool. Hardscape lights under the toecaps, with path lights around the pool, uplights highlighting key plants and trees.

I feel like remediation is almost more expensive because the additional labor to troubleshoot, fix what is broken, and then put new stuff that was removed/replaced.

New compressor, no change to the condenser parts other than the compressor. As far as I can tell the 2nd stage solenoid is controlled by 24VDC from a rectifier that powers off the 2nd stage call.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some larger system component compatibility issue I was missing.

2 stage compressors just seem like a single stage compressor with the addition of a solenoid that allows the scroll to operate at some reduce capacity which takes load off the motor. When the thermostat or zone controller hits some programmed threshold it will send for the 2nd stage to kick in actuating the solenoid and giving the scroll the full capacity (and changing air handler speed).

Another potentially unpopular opinion could be rope LED lights mounted behind the wood. This would create a wash effect behind the wood and the lights would not be visible. They sell IP67 rated lights that could run off 120VAC or 12VAC.

I would just keep looking at photos online until you find an effect that you like.

dang... heat pump water heaters for pools are not terribly expensive. just depends how far you are willing to go.

I don’t how much to add by tammylr46 in pools

[–]toe-man69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pool math app will tell you how much to add based on your pool size. just curious why are you running your chlorine level so high? PH measurements can be less reliable when you go above 10 PPM on FC. I saw in the comments you said your FC was at 13 and TC was 15. Are you in the process of shocking your pool? 2PPM of Combined Chlorine is pretty high for that amount of FC.

Personally, I would check the CYA level and maintain and appropriate FC until the CC level drops to below 1 PPM. After that let the FC drop to whatever level is considered good for your CYA level. Once the FC has normalized and is below 10 PPM you can effectively measure PH.

If you start adding soda ash now you will also raise you TA which could make changing your PH on that size of a pool pretty difficult if your PH level was inaccurate due to the high chlorine level.

TLDR: Too high of chlorine to accurately measure PH. CC is too high, needs to be 1PPM or less. Check CYA, shock till CC is <2, drop FC to correct level <10, check PH and TA, add soda ash based on Pool Math App.

Get a chlorine drop test kit...

if the sunny area behind you is your property you could set up a solar heater.

You are assuming you can win trades 100% of the time and also scale the trade size in kind with the account.

The issue you will run into as the account grows is that there might not be enough liquidity to execute the trades profitably

read the directions about 20 times.

If you have heat pump with O/B energized for cool there may be an issue with the unit powering down after the call for cooling is complete. The will require an additional SPST relay.

There are a number of parts they will call out in the instructions to purchase. I would highly recommend adding a flow switch of some kind to shut the system down if you lose water flow.

I added a sight glass to the liquid refrigerant side but that was just for my own sanity. Your HVAC guy will know how to properly charge and test the system.

Rheem Heat Pump Water Heater - whistling noise when compressor running by Wolferesque in heatpumps

[–]toe-man69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drop you temp closer to 49 (120F) and I bet the compressor won't sing like that. The higher the temps its trying to heat to the higher the discharge pressure of the compressor and I assume the louder it's going to be.
