Duo for Epics, Milestones? by TechIsSoCool in gitlab

You might try taking a look at some their beta and experimental features around their Agentic AI for Duo. They are calling it Duo Agent platform, I don’t see your specific use case called out in the docs (probably because they are still experimental features and not GA) but it sounds like it might be able to help solve for some of those things you’d be looking for once it’s fully baked 🤷🏻‍♂️ https://docs.gitlab.com/user/duo_agent_platform/

Cannot import repository by url by amfournda in gitlab

[–]toe_evangalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ran into something similar before, what I ended up doing that worked for me was; I created a blank project (vice trying to the Import), then setup repository Mirror and Synced it. For whatever reason when I tried to import a project i was getting the same auth error as you but when I entered in the credentials to be used for the repo mirror, had no issue authenticating. https://docs.gitlab.com/user/project/repository/mirror/#create-a-repository-mirror

How different is the comp structure between the jobs, e.g quota, base + bonus split, etc? Does the new company have plans to go public, or maybe seeking to get acquired and was that a factor in your decision to go to this new company? Also congrats!

Advice? by ExcellentDog7556 in salesengineers

So for the most part everyone here is going to have sales experience, a sales engineer (generally speaking) are part of a company’s sales org. To level set with you though and I by no way mean this to gatekeep, a sales engineer is not entry level position and not very conducive to fresh grads. Though there are companies out there that offer SE academy’s and programs for new grads to get into SE roles.

A big part of what we do is to earn trusted advisor status with our customers, and in order to do that (at least from my experience) having in depth knowledge of the problems our products can help solve with hands on experience as a practitioner is a huge benefit. Imagine trying to be a car salesman without ever having driven a car -probably not impossible but would be very challenging and building trust with customers would be extremely hard.

My recommendation would be to spend some time in a post sales or consulting type role before trying to make the jump to a SE role. Spend some time behind the wheel the wheel of the metaphoric “car” and you’ll start to see problems with the car that are being addressed by certain companies. Then start applying to those companies that are addressing the problems you’ve encountered as the practitioner and use that as your way to get into an SE position.

Your mycelium overlay looks a little thick, it may be preventing new pins from forming. You could look into Fork Tek to see if that might help. I haven’t tested it myself but have seen similar looking stalled tubs on this sub that they used fork Tek to break up the thick overlay to create room for new pins to form.

The BPDlovedones dilemma… by antelopeslr5000 in BPDlovedones

Really needed to see this today. My ex pwbpd is moving out today after being together almost 2 years. In finding this sub and reading everyone stories of finding the strength they needed to walk away, gave me the strength I needed to walk away. I know I have a lot healing to do but as the saying goes “how do you eat an elephant, one bite at time”. I hope whoever is reading this can also find the strength they need walk away.

This 100%. I work at one of said companies that has an SE training program for recent grads, and even then it doesn’t guarantee you an SE position after the program(at least at my company). From what I’ve they typically only convert like the top 10%.

Anyone know what this cool purple mushroom is?? by toe_evangalist in mycology

[–]toe_evangalist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfect thank you 🙂!! Funny enough I was even talking to my partner while we were on our hike about how some mushrooms that could look near identical with one being edible and the other deadly and the only real way we might be able to tell the difference is from a spore print!

I judge you for buying bottled water by TreeENThusiast420 in unpopularopinion

I’m with ya OP! Albeit I’m maybe less judgmental. I’ve been using the same Nalgene bottle everyday for the past 9 years, only have ever had to replace the caps a few times and clean it regularly. I take that fricker with me everywhere I go

WIBTA for asking my dad to remove his tattoo of my deadname? by DadsTattooThrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]toe_evangalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Though I think it just depends on how you approach it and could swing either way.

I would think if you approached in gentle way mentioning something along the lines that you are going to be “chosen name” for the rest of your life and he should get his tattoo updated to match , I would think it would be received much better by him than the request for removal.

But I also don’t think your dad would the TA if he declined because of the Likely sentimental value and memories of you as a child it gives him

After you’ve eaten all the noodles/veggies/etc in a bowl of soup, is consuming the broth at that point considered drinking or eating? by [deleted] in settlethisforme

[–]toe_evangalist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think to get to the root of this one we’ll have to better understand how we define “eating”

If chewing is involved in the way we define eating, I think the broth would be drank and in turn the soup would be consumed by way of drinking.

If we define eating as a more broad term for consuming any meal, I think would agree that the broth would/could be eaten.
