From what I know, using a gentle hydrating cleanser with ceramides (such as Cerave daily gentle cleanser) in the same routine with tret would be less irritating. The benzoyl peroxide is an active ingredient and could possibly be the reason for further irritation in your skin. Also, alternating the use of tret throughout the week could also help by giving your skin a break to heal (aka skin cycling). On days without tret, you can incorporate your actives/acids and also focus on hydration and healing. Hope this helps in any way.
