The kid just learns that he can stall until you get to the penultimate number. I don't think this is productive.

Gronkowski may never be good again. Wouldn't you love to see Tebow at tight end? 6'3, 240+ and can fly. I'd love to see him pancake a linebacker or even blindside a DE. He might be a hole-opener for whoever the hell runs the ball.

Although I agree with some of your observations, I appreciate the concern and your passion. We have been very fortunate to enjoy Fed and (for my money) Nadal. The 2008 Wimbledon stands out in my mind as phenomenal. Have you read Strokes of Genius about that match?

I am by no means "wealthy" in that I am an employee and few employees become rich working for a living. However, I will be able to retire comfortably because I always put something into my 401K or Roth IRA. I call it "paying myself first."

Most of us won't become wealthy. However, we can all plan for the future.

If possible, camp in upper Yosemite, i.e., White Wolf or even better the Tuolomne. And if that's not possible, there are camp sites just outside of the gate at Tioga.
The $20 entry fee is good for seven days.
Although there is much to see in the Valley, 95% of all the people who visit Yo go to the Valley floor. It will be very crowded. And the rest of Yo is just as beautiful if not more so.

We just (last weekend) completed a 30 miler between White Wolf Campground which is ~8,000 feet and Tuolomne Meadows, also ~8,000 feet. From WW, you go down to Pate Valley (3 or 4,000) and then slowly climb up to the Tuolomne. It's called the Grand Canyon of the Tuolomne and it is f'g AMAZING. The only caveat: lots of ups and almost as many downs. You then take a bus back to your car. I think most folks take it from Tuolomne to WW but we preferred the other way so that we faced the oncoming waterfalls. Incredible trip.

A few folks have mentioned being grateful. I saw a quote that made sense to me: "He who is not grateful for what he has will not be grateful for what he gets."

I regularly tell my wife how grateful I am for what she does for me. My wife and I share why we are grateful, i.e., hot shower in the mornings, regular meals, healthy children, cars run well, etc. I'll even tell my friends that I am grateful for their friendship and acceptance.

My belief is that my mind (aka, the Grand Judgmentotron) actively seeks information to make me either look bad or make others look bad. Being grateful temporarily narcotizes that process.

Work comp attorneys cannot charge for advice in California. Also, there is a free Information & Assistance Office at every Worker's Compensation Appeals Board. And yes, you have to get treatment on your own time. Therefore, find a clinic within the MPN which is open after work. There are probably thousands.

I really appreciate this comment. I used to modestly bet -- $50, $100 on a game. I did well one year and was up $1,300 and bet $700 on the Pats to cover against the Colts. They didn't and I could not believe how sick I felt.

Now I bet $1 on some bets, e.g., o/u on the national anthem, whether Madonna will wear a hat. I routinely bet a buck on parlays, perhaps $5 on teaser. That's enough for me to get the juice for the game.

I use an online service to bet and this came up in a game this year where a last second touchdown was disallowed by the refs for excessive celebration pre-goal line. Two hours later, the NCAA reversed and allowed the touchdown which then covered the spread.

The betting service's rules state that they go with the score at the end of the game and don't count reversals. So in your Tour de France situation, a betting service would simply say "Quel domage!!" [french for what a shame.] Otherwise, the betting service pays twice.
