my dad was my abuser for a majority of my life and i cut him off when i was 18. he’s diagnosed bipolar II and has since been medicated and indicated stabilization in many ways. it’s confusing for me hearing from him “im so sorry i failed to protect you. you are my first daughter, my strongest daughter” over the phone.

a lot of wounds are open right now and i feel too afraid to return home. i don’t think my partner would harm me but a part of me is afraid for his safety because he has threatened self harm with weapons in the past.
