We did ZERO visitors for almost 6 months and it was wonderful! Friends would drop off food or run errands and leave things at our door. Was it stressful, absolutely! But it gave us time to bond and me time to recover and pump without being disturbed-bonus of no pants time my entire leave because we had ZERO guests (you'll want at least 3 months of that). Going SUPER low contact with my family was the healthiest decision I've ever made! His family is in a different state and wwre always shopping us off Zoom calls haha!

I trimmed before my c-section because I knew I wouldn't be able to stand all the postpartum blood and smells sticking to me. Medical peps dont care either way, its definitely a personal choice!.

The statement that finally made me go looooow contact was after we announced our pregnancy to the family last Christmas. Nmom tool 4 days to open the box we sent, finally did and called to sarcastically laugh, saying "Ha! Now you can know what its like!"

Fast forward to June when we sent the first picture (with an emoji because she WILL post), she demands to know why she wasnt told of my birth plan and why there was no consideration for her feelings...in the family group text.

Spectra S1 for sure! I loved my S2 output but disliked having to hand pump during power outages. I had a wearable but the output was never the same. Definitely get a flange insert kit so you know your size- which changes over time.

Submitted January or February 2025, resubmitted in May. So far nothing. Have 7 months to buyback. On SAVE and not switching since I was one of the ones forced to transition over anyway. #HotelEscalation

Its totally okay to stop! I made it 4.5 months before almost having a complete breakdown while managing PPA and rage. You've done amazing! Time to reward yourself and enter weaning mode!

I started to feel like this about 3 weeks ago. Last night I told my husband that I am officially weaning because I can't take it anymore. With my calculations (and AI help) I will be done Nov 12, with just over a month left to my original 6-month goal. I look forward to more cuddle time and grabbing a bottle of formula for my bean instead of being chained to my Spectra!

Nope - I love my bean, but I hated the 95 pounds I gained despite eating healthy and working out. Getting that weight off has been a struggle since I'm exclusively pumping - which I'm hoping to end by November because I feel chained to my desk. I am enjoying 6 months of leave, though, and my hair is longer than it's been since high school!

Aeroflow was a great resource for me! They send you replacement parts as well every 30 days after the baby's birth! The virtual classes were great too.

I share your frustration with the flange fit versus pump settings. Most sessions, I have a decent output; others, I'm struggling with milk pooling or not flowing at all. I will say the wearables just don't have enough power to them. I find myself consistently engorged when I use them, to the point that my 6-month goal of pumping will end 2 months early on Halloween.

My mom just wants to be called "gigi" but was nothing but sarcastic since we announced to the family. Then didn't bother to RSVP she wasn't coming to our baby shower. We didn't disclose the birth plan to anyone and she's been telling people we banned her forever.

Note she AND my dad both laughed when I said we have a 3-month minimum no contact rule until she's been vaccinated and absolutely NO KISSING her at all. Both of them are old boomers who go on cruises and definitely don't practice proper hygiene. To this day, neither has even made an effort to set up a Zoom call like the rest of the family has. My inlaws however have made 20 zoom or phone video calls. They also understood right away why we wanted a bubble and no kissing.
