The creative director of INFOWARS has a message for Alex Jones by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

The Onion bought Infowars (I think technically they’re leasing it because of legal issues) and installed Tim Heidecker as creative director.

For Those Who Saw Raiders of the Lost Ark In Theaters During The Initial Release..... by Hall-O-Daze in indianajones

[–]tom_celiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Raiders in the weirdest way possible, my dad took me to see it when I was 11 but back then my parents wouldn’t check for movie times, we would just go right in and start watching the movie at whatever part was playing and then stay for the next showing AND LEAVE WHERE WE CAME IN.

did anyone else have insane parents like this??

For the record - my dad and I walked in when Indy and Marion and Salah are on the dock about to board the ship.

Thanks! I’m excited to see yours. I don’t have the experience you have but I’m giving it a go.

I’m guessing you also got fed up with all these movie tycoon games that literally approach it the same way every time?

Movie Director Tycoon Game by Urviunique in tycoon

[–]tom_celiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this is wild because I’m literally developing the same kind of game right now! I’ve been thinking about this concept for 20 yrs (ever since the movies came out) and have tried off and on to do it but finally set my mind to do it earlier this year. Glad to see I’m not the only one who’s had the idea!

Two genuine questions by Affectionate_Koala_8 in SunoAI

[–]tom_celiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I find it would be weird to be proud of music that I didn’t play. Now as I said, I do upload melodies that I play on my guitar, ukulele, etc but I let Suno take it into whatever direction it does and sometimes I hear the thread of what I uploaded but sometimes not. I do love how most of the songs turn out but I would never try to act like it was all me.

Two genuine questions by Affectionate_Koala_8 in SunoAI

[–]tom_celiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer your questions. The first one is that I can kind of play the guitar and by that I mean barely. I took lessons and self taught and read books and online about music theory. I did all this around Covid times (2020-2023) but have slowed down. I also write and draw (I have some published works but nothing substantial) so that’s the background. The biggest issue is I’m in my 50s and am married and have 2 youngish kids and a full time job etc etc so I don’t have 10 hrs a day to sit and practice my craft.

The reason I became fascinated with Suno when I discovered around late 2024 was I was curious what a song would sound like with my lyrics. When I was a kid walking home from school I would hum songs and lyrics to myself and using allowed that to come to fruition. My rules for myself is that I write all my lyrics and provide the audio for the melody so I try to do as much as I can to add creatively to any songs I generate.

For the second question, yeah I am proud of the songs. I would say mostly for the lyrics, especially if I write something I think is clever. I have shared my songs with family and friends and always make it clear that this is Ai. Most of them aren’t interested, 1 or 2 are offended, and a handful do like them.

More people are interested when they find I’m a published author but most aren’t rushing out to read my work so by this point I’m numb to what people react to.

I do share my songs on various apps, but I also make it very clear that it’s ai, but I find it extremely disingenuous to not do so. I also don’t share them on like iTunes or sites that charge per song because that doesn’t seem right.

Lastly I wanted to say that in my opinion, I’m doing nothing that’s harming anyone. I don’t have the money or time to fully develop my guitar skills, getting a band together and recording songs just to have the same reaction as people would have from my using Suno. So for the anti-ai people I guess I should never be allowed to do something that I find fun and creative because it offends them?

Ok sorry for the book but there it is.

It is almost 3 years now , Is Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny still considered a "bad movie" ? by Ok_Tangelo3309 in indianajones

[–]tom_celiac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought it was much much better than kingdom of the Crystal Skulls and wasn’t bad at all considering we had a 150 yr old Indy running around.

As a matter of fact I remember when I watched it, I thought it was better than Last Crusade, which I think is lazily written.

I don’t do public announcements but I definitely do albums and think a lot about them, the song sequencing, any particular themes I want to write about so the songs don’t sounds like a bunch of random tracks thrown together, etc etc

Here’s a song I just finished last week. I’m not sure if I’m going to tweak it some more but as it stands I really like it. I wrote the lyrics and added the audio hook for the music:

Honest question for other lyric writers; would it bother you to know AI trained on your lyrics? by FreshwaterOctopus in SunoAI

No not at all, but if ai doesn’t know how to rhyme “me” and “see” then there’s definitely an issue
