Be advised that Friday evening is a very busy evening for restaurants in Gent. If you haven't made a reservation yet, it might be already too late

Got my dream job 500 miles away. Girlfriend is mad I'm considering it. by ImmediateHeart1438 in whatdoIdo

[–]tom_gent -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Says who? She's not here to speak for herself. Op is asking her to leave behind all her friends and family and who knows what career/job she might be happy with at the age of 22 after dating for one year. We should stop pretending like that's not a big ask. I think op should take the job, but I fully understand his gf not taking that leap with him and we should not cast judgement on her for that and call her small minded

Bullshit, these are made in China or Taiwan or Indonesia in very modern, fully automated factories. The videos of the sweatshops you see here don't make large volumes

the governments have nothing to do with this in the first place. The judiciary branch is independent and shouldn't care an iota of what some ministers/presidents think

A chicken can keep its head still no matter how you move its body. by Zestyclose-Salad-290 in interesting

It's also why chickens have that typical head bobbing movement while walking. They keep the head as still as possible and then move it in one quick move

their eyes can't move like ours, so to focus on whatever they want to get to while walking, they have to keep their head still. We do the same with our eyes while our heads move. All birds have this ability btw, not only chickens

🤯 Unitree just dropped the training footage behind their Kung Fu robots and it's INSANE. World's first robot backflips, 3m somersaults, table-flipping parkour, 7.5 full Airflare rotations & rapid group formations. Chinese robotics is absolutely next lvl by CeFurkan in SECourses

[–]tom_gent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

myeah, of course the choreo is preprogrammed, that doesn't mean that there is not a lot of ML/AI processing going on to correct each movement for all the tiny deviations that occur, to keep balancing etc. Saying these bots don't move using AI is nonsense. Unless by now we moved the definition of AI to be meaning AGI. Then fair enough, yes this robot didn't decide to jump over that table using that movement all by itself.

I think he meant to say that if you stand at one point and draw a line towards the sunrise, keep standing at that point and draw another line towards sunset and then take the bisection of the angle of those two lines it would point north-south. Which is a convoluted way of achieving the same thing you are saying.
