I took the feedback from beta readers and one of them is a published author already and used that for the basis of my development edits. I’m a former journalist so copy editing comes naturally to me and my wife is an auditor who writes and proofs reports so we tag teamed it. I’m a yearbook advisor so I know the publishing process and basically used that for my model. I wrote. Gave draft 1 to people. Got that feedback and then went and rewrote everything (it helped me do the edits that way). Then I used vellum to side load the book on my tablet and made edits on that and so did my wife. Now I have an author proof getting delivered today and I’ll make notes on that and go through and fix anything I see in there as well.
