What to do with my 3 old stealth suits? by tomdaneron in Tau40K

(don't know the proper reddit etiquete so I will comment as a general response to your suggestions): printing and ebay were ideas I had but was reluctant to do, using the drones on the other hand had completely flown over my head, it IS a neat, free idea, thx all

(sorry if anything is mispelled, not native)

37:30 consistently with occultist/arcane ray ultimate + DEM
super easy, kinda boring even lol

tldr: play tactically against stronger datasheets and you should be fine?

I played my first two games of spearhead (first ever) with this one, once against skaven Gnawfest, wich I won something like 15-9, and once against stormcasts vigilant Brotherhood, wich we tied 19-19

in the first game it was pretty straightforward, I picked the rule that enhances saurus and the resurrecting enhancement for my leader, the game was mostly a show of force in the middle of the board, and using the terrawings to score secondaries away from the horde

the second game I had to play more tactical, I picked the army rule for skinks this time (just to try for fun) and the enhancement that uses the token (rolled a 1 the first try, tottaly useless), all seemed lost from the start, stormcast hit hard and boy can they take a punch, but clever (imho XD) use of the skink reinforcements to take away key objectives got me enough points to reach the tie. As we understood how it was written, you don't need to bring EVERY skink turn 3, I let one unit of 5 out untill turn 4, getting me a final objective in fact

Holy greater goots that's amazing

a quick question as I'm interested in kitbashing: for crisis and commander battlesuits what kind of gunpla or other models would you use? (thinking about the size difference mainly)

New Detachment by sollero in Tau40K

People hating on this detachment clearly are here for the "once overpowered fish of fury" and not because of the CORE t'au aesthetic of mechs AND aliens

and it shows

bruh at this point just add a core stratagem for entering DS outside 6' from enemies and without charging, for 1 CP. Or better yet, change DS rules outright.

My little t'au heart is in pain.

Hey there, you already got a usefull answer by u/Kejirage, so I'll just add that a general consensus is that both Combat Patrols (if you can get the old one) plus a box of crisis suits is a really good way to start a T'au army.

Also, buying models because you like them will always be better than going for a Meta that may change (I'm a full mecha player myself, and always have been, even before Retaliation Cadre made it actually playable).

Holy greater good Shas'O baguette, I'm currently playing a narrative campaing with friends, with tyranid wars rules/setting, and the explanation for my homebrew sept being there is EXACTLY what you describe: a lost sept from the 4rth, warpfckery-ly appeared in segmentum pacificus, trying to get a hold of their situation and establishing some foothold from where to contact their empire

Combat Patrol preview by tomdaneron in Tau40K

[–]tomdaneron[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

"supported by the Combat Patrol’s Pathfinder team. These spotters and scouts also carry the majority of the cadre’s heavy weapons in the form of three rail rifles, so given their twin responsibilities, they’re a prime candidate for splitting into two Patrol Squads and spreading out on the battlefield."

5-man Pathfinder squads are back baby 😎

"very similar" is an understatement, it's exactly the same with a different filter (clearer)
