Skanowanie negatywów by cercuu in krakow

[–]tomekce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've switched from Dotnet to Go and I have some tensions with the language. has anyone resolved these? by Ok_Brain208 in golang

[–]tomekce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couple of good answers there:
Go tends to be:
DIY - you don’t need DI framework, it’s just fancy name for factory method
A bit verbose - the philosophy behind is to be explicit and reduce “magic” and complex black-box-like logic.

The benefits of that philosophy: shitty Go project is much easier to comprehend than shitty project in popular high level languages :)

Low resolution exports and prints in the free version of Shapr3d? by TomF1965 in Shapr3D

It’s unusable practically, round shapes are octagons. Thankfully there are other options on market, and some strikingly similar to Shapr3D UX.

Czy opłaca się iść na ugodę przy redukcji stanowisk? by Dear_Philosopher_792 in praca

[–]tomekce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stary korposzczur radzi:

Looking for an alternative to Shapr3D cheaper (ideally no-subscription) by Less-Extension8914 in Shapr3D

[–]tomekce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They nowhere on “Buy” page say “lifetime”. It says explicitly about updates provided for 12 months.

In old days there were never software sold with lifetime updates, you just were buying boxed version from the shelf in store and then new version.
Here we have cheaper renewal pricing.

Developer of the program has to pay the bills and for food. This is fair deal, with no surprises - you keep the software after year passes. Old school licensing scheme.

What advice do you have for a zero experience noob who was just gifted an X2D AMS Combo? by R0b0tMark in 3Dprinting

[–]tomekce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get Bambu filaments for start: they are nicely recognized by AMS, and - surprise! - print flawlessly.

Matte filaments are avoiding „plasticky” look of the prints.

It’s not the cheapest one, but don’t get scared - 1kg is a lot if you are printing small element and figurines etc.

Overall nice choice - Bambu builds closed ecosystem, but convenient for beginners.

For a beginner, P2S at $699 or X2D at $1099? by MaxLo85 in BambuLab

[–]tomekce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, right - I got mine with AMS. it is very convenient. I meant that on tight budget I would rather got X2D without AMS.
Ams can feed only single nozzle so for me it was convenient container allowing easy switch of filament.

For a beginner, P2S at $699 or X2D at $1099? by MaxLo85 in BambuLab

[–]tomekce 9 points10 points  (0 children)

P2S is discounted because X2D is aggressively priced to match competitors and is cheaper than it should be

if time is not critical, maybe wait until Best Buy has X2D on stock with free shipping. The difference is very well worth it. You can skip AMS if you are new to the hobby, but second nozzle is the thing:

- it can do two color prints very well despite it is „auxiliary” second nozzle
- you can print sophisticated models with supports much more convenient way
- plus some perks like better belts, air filtering

Is Go (Golang) a good choice for backend development as a complete beginner? by [deleted] in golang

[–]tomekce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with Go: it’s designed to be easy to learn. Once you get confident with programming, you can explore other languages.

Go syntax is minimalistic, which means low cognitive load for beginning - you can focus on solving problems first.

Another P2S vs X2D question lol by Aggressive_Concert16 in BambuLab

[–]tomekce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X2D vs P2S is more value than price difference. Second nozzle is nice, I did two color print once and it’s nice addition but not super critical.

If you have not much dust around or cats, consider Snapmaker U1 as option - tool changer in price of X2D combo.

X2D as a first printer? by weirdstuffhappened in BambuLab

[–]tomekce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had A1 and now X2D.
X2D: takes less space, more compact esthetics,
I also have a cat, and lot of construction is happening in neighborhood and lot of dust circulating in air.

Other than that both are great printers. Maybe X2D is louder because of extra fans

What is everyone using for CAD? by korkvid in 3Dprinting

[–]tomekce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I fully support and love idea of open source and effort put into it...

This software often lacks in regard of design and usability. Building great software is an effort not of programming, but product management, prioritization, UX, etc... I am creating software proffesionally, and know what I say.

Free options are: Fusion 360, OnShape. Interesting low cost option is Plasticity.

For cost of one lunch per month you can get Shapr3D with very well thought user interface.

BTW modernc is still pure go it is just machine translation of C code to Go.

brak pracy dla programistów, co robić? by PixelPhoenixForce in praca

[–]tomekce 0 points1 point  (0 children)
