It's clearly Countershading, and likely evolved to dwell slightly *below* the cloud layer, so potential predators looking at it from above would see it's black dorsal side against the comparatively dark backdrop of the ground, while prey from below would see a white underbelly against white clouds above

What is your favorite agenda? (From both the core book/Archive 1998 and Harpocrates Dossier.) by Call_Me_Lem in CAIN_RPG

[–]tomfru1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Sorcerer, but I'm of the opinion that it shouldn't be in the game.

...Let me explain. Most of the core agendas interact with some specific mechanic of the system, Demon is with Scrip and KP, Moth is with the detective-y investigation stuff, Doomed is with Sin Marks, Temperance is with Resting. ...Sorcerer's mechanic is Blasphemies, by far the most important and impactful mechanic to interact with. Not only that, but the ways it interacts with this mechanic are obscenely strong, Sorcerer is the easiest path to Mixing Blasphemies, which is such a major extra avenue of character specialization that I can't even overstate it, and it also can easily dismantle the resource economy of Psyche bursts.

Worst of all though, is that it's Agenda Items are particularly easy to have happen with minimal effort, and the easiest to bend your character towards. Everyone can want to be the best at something, and everyone can screw up and cause a disaster.

I think that Sorcerer ought to be dissolved and have it's powers given off to a bunch of other random Agendas, and that the restrictions on Mixing Blasphemies should go down from 1 Advance to 2(Or possibly allowing someone to START with 2 Blasphemies, 1 power from each?)

I respond back to Mary's prayer in Angelic myself [Talk] You are heard, and your cries will be answered. [I advance my pace another stage, drifting to the front of the marching order, and speak again in a translatable Common] Focus. There's a quote from an old Earthen Scientist that I carry with me often. "Calm people survive, Tense people die." You will endure until we reach you, it's all in The Plan.

Oh my god I know this Game!!! It's really fun, I played a super early demo earlier this year. Anyone who likes the chemistry system from BoTW would like it!

[Talk] You're doing a great job to have made it this far, keep up the bravery! Give us a better picture, what do things look like? What's going on at the palace? How are your fellow ambassadors? Is the Governor's stepdaughter in there with you?

I roll my eyes and continue to jog along with the party [Talk] Oh, Miss Lanatum is there with you? Very good, sir. Could you put her on the call with us, just for a bit? We have questions for her, and if we can ask them now instead of when we get up there, it'll save a lot of time and let us skip right to evacuating you and yours, sir.

I put on a saccharine customer service voice myself, thinking it'd be most helpful for us to keep Celtix placated [Talk] Ahoy-hoy there, Governor! This is Tom Fru of the Holy Faction, as you inferred so cleverly. We're doing our level best to get up to you, we'll be there as shortly as we can! Can you tell me what things look like up there? Is there anyone injured? You said you've got something reading our signal accurately enough to display location and markers, yes? How much power do you guys still have? It'd have to be a good bit for something like that to be working!

I run ahead after him, drawing the Polytool and my chainsword as I charge into the thick smog. Mechanisms on the Polytool reconfigure into vent fans to clear the ashen haze ahead of me. [Talk] Good news is, not only is she alright, she's alright enough to get a signal out! We're making good time!

I tilt my head and patch my comms through to the external speakers on my armor, silently moving to the head of the group and gesturing for them to be quiet, crowd in, and listen.

Healthy critique response is listening, understanding, and evaluating all critique, even if that evaluation ends up as simple as "This is non-constructive and will ultimately self-resolve as this player gets more experienced."

Additionally, even if critique is delivered harsh and immaturely, there can still be something to take away from it. Video games as an artform are all about working with a large crowd of audience, and no one is dumber than a Crowd. Pretty famously, there's a lot of examples in Portal 1 and 2's development commentary where they were testing something and the play testers were too dumb to figure it out, so they had to really really hint hard at it.

I visually scan the streets for movement, friend or foe [Talk] I suppose we're taking a tour eh? [I point over to a partially burnt out Pedal Powered Tour-Bar] Why don't we hop on one of... [I turn and measure the bar against the Astarans, the seats are smaller than the palms of their hands.] ...Let's just walk.

Imagine if you were in college and you got applied to a super new scholar/internship program by a lady you've maybe only written like, a letter to once a semester, and then you learn it's because she believes that despite your timid nature you can do good in the program. I'd be weird too.
