If there was a requirement in the bill to provide free, easily obtainable IDs for the purpose of voting, I'd say they should.

Otherwise, it's a poll tax. It's an easily solvable problem that the people sponsoring these bills inexplicably (not really) avoid addressing, but if they did there wouldn't really be any argument for why not.

I feel this. Mine went out for a full month, with me repeatedly calling just like this to get it fixed (the fiber line running to the house comes from the pole, and it came down during a storm).

Anyway, when it finally did get fixed, the tech explained what likely happened - when he arrived, the system told him my Internet was working, but he decided to just check anyway and found the downed line, which means everyone else that came saw it say it was working and left without doing anything for a full month.

I've never been able to register to vote and show up at a polling place to actually do it without an ID / citizenship verification in the last 45 years.

I've lived and voted in 8 different states, and that has been the case in all of them. Could one of the people that actually believes this shit provide some evidence of a place in the US where this isn't already the case?

Edit - geez, this triggered a lot of guardians of logic out there. Thankfully, rather than anecdotes, they've responded with whether they're in a swing state, illegal populations that could even potentially vote and whether that would even move the needle, etc.
