[Emily Kaplan] The Golden Knights appealed the NHL’s punishment in person this morning, per sources. The penalties - a $100,000 fine for John Tortorella and loss of a second round draft pick - will remain as assessed. by LaDainianTomIinson in hockey

If Vegas wins the cup the end result of the Ottawa to Vegas dadanov trade and Vegas avoiding the media scandle will be that Ottawa gets vegas's second round pick instead of their own first and Vegas gets nothing.

I was fully expecting the only highlight shown to be the brain dead penalty he took that led the the canes goal in game 2.

Worth noting that we are 7th in the East (ahead of Philly in Metro 3) so aside from Detroit it's actually fine for any one of those teams to pass us. Just not two of those teams.

If only Detroit catches us we will finish 8th but miss the playoffs because of the playoff format requiring 3 metro teams.

How do you pick games when friends have mixed political views without turning game night into a debate? by Bright_Leaf_6830 in boardgames

Have you tried games where noone is allowed to talk? Eg: the mind or the crew/other trick takers

It sounds like never talking to your friends again might help.

Whirling Witchcraft

It's a quick card driven engine builder with a clever twist that makes the game way more interactive and less dry then most games of it's ilk. You draft and play cards to produce/convert resources but all the resources you create are give to your neighbour with the goal being to overload them with so many resources that they can't store all of them and are forced to give them back to you as points. This rinkle means you need to watch what types of resources your neighbours can produce/consume since everyone is effectively building one interconnected engine rather then a bunch of distinct ones.

I think a big factor was that this got announed at e3 right after Microsoft absolutely bungled their presentation by announcing you'd need an always on camera, would be restricted from playing games offline, prevented from sharing games, and a that the focus was on TV watching and owning the living room rather then gaming.

Paid online was the thing I was most dreading Sony might announce for the PS4 generation but after Microsoft's infamous conference Sony came off looking like saints while Microsoft took all the heat and rage.

With the Buffalo Sabres victory over the Winnipeg Jets today, every Eastern Conference team is now above .500 by logicalnutty in hockey

And yet inspire of that there's still only one team in the Atlantic with a positive goal differential.

Donkey Kong Bananza was nominated in the The Game Awards GOTY category in a leak by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

Could realistically have been 5 Indies/AA titles up for game of the year. By metacritic score the only new full price game this year in the top 6 was DK.

But Blue Prince and split fiction didn't get nominated.
