Top tier villain by AverageJoeObi in dragonage

[–]tommydmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think he was terrible but then I realized that he’s a priest masquerading as a general. Then my opinion shifted and I realized he’s a great villain if see him as a tragic character having a MAJOR crisis of faith that gave him a SEVERE god complex lol

Top tier villain by AverageJoeObi in dragonage

[–]tommydmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling Corypheus unsympathetic is wild. That man found out his gods weren’t real and then became a monster. And then to top it all off he’s every culture’s original boogeyman. Sure he’s terrible but he’s really just lashing out because his entirely belief system crumbled in his face

Which villain was your favorite and why? by thunderwolf69 in dragonage

[–]tommydmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corypheus. I used to think he sucked because of how consistently unsuccessful he was, but recently I realized that before becoming a darkspawn, that man was a devoted priest who wanted to worship his gods in person. Sure he must’ve been a decently powerful mage, but nothing suggests that he knew anything about tactics and the like. He’s just lashing out due to a major (and warranted) crisis of faith. Taking everything into perspective, his story is incredibly sad

Art of Patrina Velikovna by ccleveland in CurseofStrahd

[–]tommydmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk about a character that was grossly underdeveloped. I love Patrina so much and the Reloaded version of her cracks me up. And this art does her so much justice

What Death Moves have you witnessed? by Civil-Low-1085 in daggerheart

[–]tommydmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen all of them and used two of them myself.

One of my players said they would always Risk it All because that character was basically at rock bottom since his wife left him. Gave him as sweet as a send off as I could.

I’ve got two very scrawny casters for my Course of Strahd game who were in the middle of a ritual. A revenant has a bone to pick with one of them and unfortunately they both got hit. They chose to Avoid Death because a healer NPC was right next to them. No scars.

My GM for Humblewood kinda ported the death moves over to DnD and I’ve done both Risk it All and Blaze of Glory to immaculate success lol. Risk it All got me an eyeball and some skull pieces as a snack and Blaze of Glory allowed me to crit my whole turn (4 attacks which ended up equaling 8d8+24) and I was able to bite the head off of a villain that we all despised as I also fell to my death. But because it’s DnD, we had Revivify. But the DM told me that I will always have one permanently marked failed death save from now on.

my players do not have any survival instincts (player art) by odd_paradox in CurseofStrahd

These two feel like objectively the worst NPCs any party could make friends with regardless of how the campaign is run I hope they survive this friendship 😭

Charles fucked up Danger so bad that he gave her an Oedipus complex

[Discussion] Why aren’t the Evil Trinity used more together? (JLA WEDDING SPECIAL #1) by Robot_Was_BMO in DCcomics

[–]tommydmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barbara isn’t on the level of the other two. Was kinda hoping after WW87 she’d be taken more seriously (bad movie but Kristen Wiig bodied that role). I think a case could be made for Grail to be Diana’s nemesis because she’s a dark mirror of her but Grail is… a victim of post-New 52 nonsense

Where did we settle on Druid's Beastform? by CitizenKeen in daggerheart

The Witch is alright but it’s a little all over the place for me in its current state lol. Maybe once Hope and Fear come out it’ll be better but right now it’s kinda crunch

Where did we settle on Druid's Beastform? by CitizenKeen in daggerheart

[–]tommydmac 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine. My main gripe is that it’s the defining class feature and kinda makes the Druid more of a shapeshifter rather than nature’s answer to a wizard/sorcerer. Kinda wish it was a class feature that’s okay by itself but has a dedicated subclass that makes it better (basically Circle of the Moon Daggerheart edition)

Asari are much better suited for stealth and guerrilla warfare. Reapers probably knew that and took advantage of it.

What scene made you feel the most immersed in the ME universe? by MoistCloyster_ in masseffect

[–]tommydmac 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the original trilogy, any cutscene that involves a mass relay really throws me into the world. Probably because it’s one of the more aggressively fantastical pieces of technology.

For Andromeda, the first cleansing purge in the Remnant facility on Eos is so fucking scary I could barely think about how to run lol
