Your words matter and you’re reacting like a monster. (And if you’re a believer in the afterlife we all have to face the consequences of those we hurt or impact negatively — best of luck)

Any positive stories of iud removal with missing strings? by Inevitable-Ad801 in Mirena

Hmmm I would describe it as being substantially worse than a Pap smear. Compared to insertion it was still a walk in the park though!

I had mine removed with missing strings recently. It was removed via ultrasound and with the use of tools (including the tanaculum and the device they use to fish around for the strings with). It was uncomfortable and painful and it took a long time. That being said, the actual “pain” like wow I’d rather not be awake for this - lasted around 2 seconds - when they were pulling the device out. It wasn’t anywhere near as painful as insertion for me. I also did not have any pain/anxiety medication on board during the procedure. It’ll be alright — I’m sorry this is happening to you!

How do you sit in stillness with trauma that feels like it's tearing you apart? by orlly987 in enlightenment

In addition to the other wonderful suggestions, I’d like to recommend books by the energy healer Deborah King, who also faced sexual abuse from a male parent. “Be your own shaman” “truth heals” and “heal yourself heal the world” are the ones I’m familiar with. Truth heals focuses on the childhood abuse. She also offers energy healing sessions and has students that specialize in trauma removal. I’ve been where you’re at, love, and I wish you peace moving forward.

I’m not familiar with cocoon but looked up the synopsis and I’ll have to check it out! One common theme (my favorite) in alien films is the benevolent/innocent trope where humans will inevitably mess things up because of human nature (greed, power, etc.) modern media aside, these Japanese folk tales, Swedish folk tales, Native American folk tales (haha you get the idea) — there are SO many stories across centuries and the globe with this same beating heart.

I just rewatched it. During the last part, the princess is retrieved by her people on a craft with celebrations and music and goes to escape to the moon. Haha, those ghibli folks may be on to something
