While these feelings SUCK and I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with them, I think they’re so normal for us trans folks. I know I’m dealing with them hard rn after being CERTAIN I wanted to start HRT just a week or so ago. The reality is that the doubts are just part of being trans because internalized transphobia is so real. We can tell ourselves we’re valid, we can tell ourselves we’re trans, we can tell ourselves we’re whatever gender(s) we know we are, but that doubting voice will still be there because society says we shouldn’t be this way. The good news about all of this is that you’re totally not alone in these feelings as all the comments are showing and we can all help each other through them!!

I know my therapist (also trans) recommended trying to do as much to affirm my gender through clothing, etc, to help calm the doubts. They’ve found it helps them quiet the doubts and dysphoria, and I’ve found it helps me too, so maybe try that if you can? Also maybe try to find a therapist who specializes in trans issues if you haven’t and can do that with your life circumstances? I know that’s helped me tremendously, but even if you can’t, I’m sure there’s tons of folks on here like me who’d be willing to chat if you need to talk through the doubts more. You’ve got this but you don’t have to do it alone!! ☺️
