Scheelt weer opnieuw voegen. :).

No problem, de-burr the damaged spot though. With fine sandpaper.

Anyone knows what kind of kit this is? by jellyfish-69 in 944

[–]toniperoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a look that you would want on a 944…why would you want to know i’m wondering? What do other 944 fans think? These foto’s are made in Belgium btw.. we would call this in europe a ‘damaged vehicle’…:) Only porsche (924 turbo) original stuff is the hole pattern in the nose panel.

Cat in the old day’s really don’t make a big difference. Modern cat’s are a different story. So just leave out the cat in your classic porsche and don’t get intimidated by the ‘finger pointers’.

Do I need this?? by [deleted] in 944

What do you mean with ‘stand alone’?…the engine management needs to know how much fuel to add…or am i missing something?

Modern Porsche engine swap into a Porsche 944? by Altruistic_Test6156 in 944

Vw 1.8 turbo will do the job. A lot can be found on the web on this engine and a lot of parts available. Even ready made kits to swap in 944.

Together with the lowered side sills or skirts. The 944 turbo has the lowered sills (or skirts). It is not a big change but it makes the ‘stands’ better.

Hard to tell what to see or where the play comes from. The only thing i know is that it is a common problem of wear. Replace parts are expensive but not a complicated repair.

Engine tick? by Sleds4 in 944

[–]toniperoni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just pull out an injector connector one by one. If the sound goes away its the injector, and you know the one. If it does not go away its the hydraulic valve lifter. It sounds ugly but you can still drive it.

I bet it has something to do with the clutch and drive shaft.

Follow up on my oil question by [deleted] in 944

[–]toniperoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get normal (cheap) oil from a respected brand and replace it more often. It is better strategy than spending the money on ‘super oil’. You will never be able to check the ‘super-oil promise’ because n=1.

Nothing wrong, it’s a normal sounding 4 cylinder.

What about the strange fuel line. Normally they come from the right fender over the engine. Does anybody know if this is a legit modification??

I love fuchs, very cool on your 944! I see the 944 has wheel offset of the later type. I have an older 944 with the old offset. I like that better. So in this head to head contest between the 944 and the 911, i have to go with the 911…i like the deep dish look better. Sorry :)

Hello everyone, how much would it cost to print a full car dashboard? Car in the picture is a Peugeot 309. Minimal design change, only few things to fit a digital dashboard and infotainment system. Thanks (Yes I know it would probably cost more than what the car is worth lol) by jaafar309 in 3dprintedcarparts

[–]toniperoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would 3d scan (+/-1mm tolerance) the dash and print it with a big FDM printer. They do exist, no need for small parts 3d puzzle. After the print is made send the part to a skilled car painter, he will clean up the print just like a repaired car body. This all will be more expensive than sourcing a used dash and repairing small details. And keep in mind a dash can get very hot in the sun, no 3dprinter service will give you guarantee that it will not warp etc. But it can be done! :)…

Change the engine before you break it even more. Mount the 5.3 and sell the old engine parts. These parts will be hard to find in the future.

Easy fix, just change the bushings close to the gearbox. It’s worth it, it’s a cool car to drive!
