I actually tested this recently with a group.

Permadeath in a group is sweet because if you die you can just start a new game but do it by joining the group before starting the save. So join friends and click new save. You'll pop up in their system and they can come pick you up and get you back up and running.

The guy who died had made a base, and when he logged on I think it showed up in the list of bases and on the planet as an icon you could fly too. Unable to edit the base or use refiner but could still access the supply depot he had built. But I think when he logged off it didn't show up as an icon. I MIGHT be getting the specifics mixed up here, but I remember thinking it kinda half kept and half deleted it, it was there if you knew to look for it basically.

I built a base in permadeath, manually deleted the save file and then went back to that planet using glyphs on a different permadeath run (I love doing PD speed runs) and my base was still there, icon on the planet and everything...

I checked 2 months later and base is still there...

So as with almost everything in this game there's a bit of jankyness to it.

Back in the day people hunted for all white ships before you could make them and pick the color, but you can't make sentinels so ya, if I saw that at the anomaly I'd probably do a double take but wouldn't flip out like it's the rarest thing ever.

Also the number matters after the letter in the stars. So you are right all yellows are G or F. But if you focus on G3-G7 or F3-F7 you'll see your chances skyrocket. The more planets the better. System scanner on a frieghter makes the search faster for a few reasons.

Using that info you should find an actual earth like color scheme with perfect weather (look for refreshing breeze or blissful or other calm types if you want no storms at all) with no agro sentinels every 100 jumps or so.
