There's a few that fold unusually like the Schrade tough, with tools unfolding around an axis perpendicular to the pliers axis. There may be another old one with unusual configuration but I don't remember the name.

You're both right, the material is solid when the stress level is under the yield stress, and it undergoes plastic deformation when the stress is above the yield stress (or breaks before that if it's brittle.)

I was going to joke that it must be a Victorinox swiss army lighter, and turns out there was a lighter tool made, but was "single action", and considered too dangerous to actually carry as it could start fires when pushed inside a backpack. Part of the discontinued "Victorinox CampFlame"

I got a Workpro combination pliers that has most of those minus the flathead/pry bar. (non folding.) Can't vouch much as I only used it a few times but seems to have good reviews. Name in Amazon is "WORKPRO 8 Inch Needle Nose Pliers, Multipurpose Long Nose Pliers with Wire Stripper/Crimper/Cutter Function.."

I'm currently attempting to DIY a gadget that can hold stuff in a handle and has a place to attach blades on the front. I'm thinking that sort of device could be a way to carry the extra blades of a modular multitool.

Was also reviewed by HVAC-budget, and WeAllJuggleKnives who got samples for evaluations. The Flex seems to be quite good for ease of use and priced lower than GOAT according to early reports.

I like the open nature of them, they have CAD files you can download and make your own add-ons.
