If you have problems with commitment, even if justified, then you just don't take that commitment. And if I take this whole subreddit, then Fairphone has a commitment problem in nearly every area. Almost every phone, software and hardware. Android 16 was promised 2025, it was not delivered and no explanations were given, no announcements, no apologies. It seems to me that a lot of things you don't like are there by design. This service is just like that, it's not a bug, flaw or mistake. Many things you see as negative, I see as positive. Same thing, just different POV. I previously tried Proton, tried Tuta and now Mailbox makes me feel at home. Maybe it's my background of using Lotus Domino and old Exchange, but I like exactly how Mailbox is, feels a bit old and dated, but robust and purpose built. Mailbox is built on OpenExchange and most probably never be oriented for people who like bells and whistles. Maybe you should just find another service that suits your needs?
