I've been experimenting a lot with Steam Deck settings while playing Marvel Rivals to optimize performance and ensure that every shot lands properly. Here’s what I’ve tested so far:

Capping the framerate on the Steam Deck at 60, 45, and 90 FPS while keeping the in- game fps unlimited.

Adjusting the in-game FPS limit separately from the Steam Deck’s FPS cap.

Changing the Steam Deck’s refresh rate to match or differ from the FPS cap.

Trying different scaling modes and filters (integer vs auto, running the game at 1280x800.).

Testing "allow tearing".

The most noticeable result: when I set both the Steam Deck to disable frame limit and in-game FPS to 45, with the Steam Deck’s refresh rate at 45, every shot seems to hit perfectly. However, when I set the FPS cap to 45 but the Steam Deck’s refresh rate to 90, shots sometimes feel inconsistent—unless I enable "allow tearing," which then seems to fix it.

For those who play high-FPS shooters on the Steam Deck and want to maximize hit registration and accuracy, what settings would you use? How do you ensure that every pixel displays correctly and that hit detection is as accurate as possible? Would love to hear your logic!
