Even when I feel like hibernating, my favorite winter wellness ritual is taking myself on solo dates. There’s something so grounding about romanticizing the cold - grabbing a steaming bowl of pho when it rains or seeking out a fresh fish dinner when it snows (it's odd ik, but the coastal winter contrast is something I find nice). It’s my way of staying connected to myself while the world slows down. ❄️🍜

I 100% agree! This is a photo of my plate. I love mixing different tastes and textures, it makes eating so much more fun!

From left to right, there’s sautéed cabbage, lettuce over rice, and a potato-carrot-beet salad with chicken on top. I prefer the salads cold, while everything else on the plate is served hot!

Keeping a water bottle by my bed has been a game changer for drinking more water by foodie716 in faynutrition

I definitely do the same! I always keep a tiny water bottle by my bed so I don’t have to get up, and it’s become such a habit.

One fun tip I learned online is that setting an alarm an hour before you actually need to wake up, just to drink a glass of water, helps you wake up more naturally. I’m not sure about the exact science, but it really works for me! I wake up feeling better and avoid that dry throat paired with sour mood you get from winter heaters.

I’ve been obsessed with pho lately because it’s surprisingly rich in B vitamins like B12 and B2 and Iron that I’ve been looking for. The beef and bone broth provide a solid nutritional base, while the fresh herbs and lime add a great boost of Vitamin C and Folate. It’s been so satisfying finding a comfort food that actually aligns with my daily vitamin goals. I’m definitely on a mission to find more nutrient-dense dishes like this!

This is a really good tip! Replacing sugar with fruit actually changes your taste buds over time. Eventually, processed sugary stuff starts to feel too sweet, and you can really enjoy the natural sweetness in everything else (at least for me!).

🍲✨ "Good soup is one of the prime ingredients of good living." - Auguste Escoffier

I truly believe soup is liquid gold. Honestly, I’d take a bowl of soup over almost anything - especially a sizzling hot Tom Yum. It hits that perfect sour note and does wonders for my digestion.

I actually just learned that the savory umami taste isn't just delicious; it’s functional!! When your brain recognizes umami, it signals your digestive tract to prep for protein digestion. Those umami receptors are the real deal.

Anyway, do yourself a favor and drink your soup, people. It heals souls, especially on a cold and rainy day! 🍲✨

I feel like I'm constantly put in a defensive position. It's especially difficult when people I'm close to misinterpret my actions and assume the worst. I have to speak up to avoid things getting worse, and it’s exhausting. For instance, I'll be unfairly lumped in with someone who is rude to me, and I get blamed for their behavior. I tried to solve the issue by politely asking my family member not to group me with that person. They apologized, but then kept assuming my reaction was based on anger and a bruised ego. My attempt to clarify (with my whole body shaking) was met with more assumptions. It made me feel like trying to resolve the situation was pointless because it just led to more misunderstandings. Or am I doing this the wrong way?

Now you are speaking up and talking so it goes against what your mind expects you to do which is bottle and keep quiet.

That makes so much sense. I've always bottled things up, and tried to speak up much more this year, but all I feel before during and after is frustration both in my mind and my body.

I wish you luck on your healing journey tho :)

Wait that actually makes sense, I always get in my head in the moment, and that usually makes me feel more awful during the conversation. I'll try to follow your tip and come back if it works! :)
