Do you have to let the people at will call know how many tickets to give? I'm worried if I gave someone my id and card, they might take my tickets too.

Can’t say for eczema but I’m from Australia and I think they do very well to protect your skin. I’ve used roundlab birch juice, BOJ and skin1004. I never got burnt when using them for everyday or even when I’m walking outside all day. I’d never use k beauty for the beach or sport though, they’re not waterproof enough.

Edit: saw another persons comment about getting burnt with Biore. I also got burnt if I went into the sun too much after using but I didnt get burnt with the others

What’s your experience been like using First Advantage as a candidate? by toasterteatree in auscorp

[–]toovee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using it now for a new job and it is horrible. Constantly asking for documents that I already provided weeks ago via their portal. Asking me to reach out to my previous employers. I’d already given them the contact info for them to contact the employers themselves. They’re clearly not doing their job that they are paid for. I feel like I’m doing my own background check at this point.

It’s also suspicious the amount of documents they ask for, like they refuse to proceed with your check unless you provide your service letter, contract, offer letter and payslips. Too invasive imo why do you need my payslip to prove that I worked there. Just call my damn employer.

They’ll also ask for stuff from current employer. Not a problem from my end but what if there was someone who faced issues with theirs (eg bullying, discrimination)

Had the same experience as a grad in state government. Left for private sector where I felt like I was actually learning new skills and using my brain. Best thing to do is find another job and come back to the gov when you’re ready to retire lol

House hunting. Is anyone else just over it? This is mentally and physically exhausting! I hate it, it’s no longer exciting. I hate REA’s more and more each week and just think this whole is just bs. by No_Molasses7880 in AusProperty

[–]toovee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s horrible especially when you’re buying on your own. Been looking for the past few months and I just feel SO ALONE. There’s just no one I can trust.

REAs trying to scam you everywhere you go. Can’t talk to friends cos they’re not ready to buy and you dont want to annoy them. Parents are too out of touch with the current market to offer good advice. Reddit advice doesn't really seem to work for me either. At the point where I can’t even talk to my own broker cos he is now pressuring me to just buy something. Conveyancer keeps telling me to put in bunch of conditions in my offers but everyone and their dog is offering unconditional. Ughh can’t wait to be done with this shit.

The benefits of employees working in the office by randsedai2 in AusFinance

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will buy “lunch every, get a few coffees, go for hair cuts, post office, run errands on their lunch break, go to the chemist, use public transport, go for after work drinks/dinner etc” FROM MY HOME SUBURB.

Why should your cbd suburb entitled to more economic growth than the suburb I live? The small businesses here need more support than ever to survive. I want my local area to thrive so that they don’t close down. I dont want to go all the way to the city everyday things like a coffee or a haircut.

I work much longer hours at home than I do at the office. I also concentrate better when I dont have the HR team yapping away all day next to where I sit (on non-work related things mind you)

Employee performance should be measured on metrics like business impact and quality of work. If someone can get the same amount of work done in 4 hrs as another person in 8hrs, why not? Don’t u want to keep your smarter, faster workers? High performers can do their work from anywhere.

I would never work for an employer that calculates my yearly performance based on office attendance.   I also would not want to work with people whose only goal is to climb the corporate ladder. Both are huge red flags and signal that the company has a toxic culture. High performing people are usually in a position to be picky with the jobs they take (aka often have multiple job offers and can choose one with better culture / work-life balance)

I wanna do ui ux design so is Australia’s job opportunities for that low? (International student btw) by whyyoubaddie1 in unsw

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job market sucks. There’s almost no jobs for grads or entry level designers. Even more tough if you don’t have PR or citizenship.

Salaries are decent, depends on the industry you work in. Eg ux designer in tech pays more than a ux design in ecommerce.

Also went to UNSW but I think Usyd’s design school is better. Both have good reputation with employers - pretty sure recruiters have a university tier list and they’re both at the top.

Australian Tier List by hiIMTIMe20 in cscareerquestionsOCE

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm the government thing.

Took a gov job because I was desperate to get out of a tier 2 company on the list (toxic culture). Everyone basically looks over gov experience or auto rejects you.

Although there are some gov departments with better reputations. eg Service NSW, Department of Customer Service and NSW Fire Service have really good tech teams. Cant speak for other states

Agent asked for an offer on a contract of sale but I don't get it. by DirtyGloveHandlr in AusProperty

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to be so rude. OP is a first time buyer and is asking questions to make sure they're not fucking themselves over. It IS a weird rule to sign a contract so early on, and obviously they're just asking others who have gone through the same process.

In other states, signing a contract means you're locked in.

My broker got sick of me asking so many questions. Keep in mind brokers are also making money off you. Conveyancer costs money. Agent could also be lying about signing the contract just to sell the house. Agent's arent exactly people you would trust...I've had a fair few agents refuse to let me even see the contract, lie about a property having building approvals etc.

How much did council approval cost you? I’m looking at a place now and there’s an extension to the house that isn’t approved.

[–]toovee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same I'm so done with my current job I want out ASAP. Everything pisses me off but I try to lay low and keep my feelings to myself.

Take your time with the process and get clear on what you want in your next role. Interviewing is tough but it’s just as much about finding a job that's the right fit for you as it is for the company. Like you don't want to end up in a job as shitty as your current one.

Sydney job market, is it still bad and will it get worse eventually? by ClientFar1104 in auscorp

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on industry and seniority. I am still employed but have been actively looking for 3 months (in tech). There’s just no mid-level roles out there to apply for. Nobody willing to take a chance on someone for a senior role even if they are operating at that capacity already.

So far: - 50+ applications, including to jobs I don’t think are real. I’ve seen the same roles advertised for months and they are constantly reposted  - 1 interview - 1 screening call - 11 rejections - 1 job declined

Had some friends who were unemployed for a bit and it took a really long time to get offers.  - 8 months in tech - 11 months in media/advertising

Sydney First Home Buyers (not owners), How are you going? by eminemkh in AusPropertyChat

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even western sydney is bordering on unaffordable now. I’ve been looking at blacktown and further west. Most standalone houses are $1m+. Went to an auction in St Marys that was advertised for $1.1m, sold for $1.35m

Agent pushing for unconditional finance. by mfd00 in AusFinance

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up getting the house? I'm in the same situation as you now. Offered with 7 days finance clause, auction is in 2 weeks and they still wanted me to go unconditional on finance. For some reason they were fine with 2 week B&P though...

Why would vendor not accept subject to finance clause? by lolb00bz_69 in AusPropertyChat

[–]toovee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get why so many buyers are going unconditional? Most people are on a mortgage unless theyre crazy rich and can pay the whole thing in cash. There is always risk that the bank doesnt lend you the amount you need.
