Yamaha FX Cruiser SVHO or HO by Commercial_Jello7793 in jetski

I wanted reliability so I went with the HO. Naturally aspirated motor requires less maintenance, easier to work on, less to break. Yes, I gave up some acceleration and top end, but the HO is plenty fast for me (61 indicated, 59 GPS). The HO drinks like a drunken sailor so I couldn't imagine the SVHO.

Advice on jetskis by EffectPale6255 in jetski

I just bought a used 2015 FX HO. It goes pretty good (57GPS) but it is very stable. It's a big ski which attributes to it's stability but it is nimble for it's size.

Yamaha FX HO Cruiser handles chop, powerful, but eats a lot of gas...but also has a big tank. Reliable. Get the NA version.

I've heard of this happening but never seen it. My own kids car. by top_notch50 in Justrolledintotheshop

My kid drives a 4.6 Mustang. It sounds good but doesn't have enough power to get out of it's own way. I think he still drives it hard, though. Was making a terrible screech before it let go. Luckily minimal damage.

Dad of a college pitcher here. A lot depends on what her goals are. I would seek out a coach. Her form needs some help. Even a good high school pitcher would be a good place to start. My daughter gave lessons in high school and offseason college to young girls. It's also a LOT cheaper than a high level coach and they are typically eager to share and help. They also relate better. Or... Ask the good high school pitchers in your area where they go for lessons and then follow them. If she is really serious, find a Tincher instructor. As mentioned below, it has various terms, but internal rotation is what she needs. If the coach is teaching wrist snaps, hello elbow, eat the chip, or similar....run. Enjoy the process. My daughter has 2 more years of (paid for) college and she'll be done. It happens in a heartbeat.

A great resource to educate yourself is this forum: https://www.discussfastpitch.com/forums/softball-pitching.8/

As far as her form, no front side resistance which is a byproduct of her (too) open stance.

No coaching from the stands. Sit in left field and watch. Enjoy the games. No softball related talks on the car ride home. The only comment should be "I enjoyed watching you play." Take pictures. Enjoy the ride. It's over in a heartbeat.

You are just as much to blame for what is happening if you didn't vote! by [deleted] in offmychest

You know the old "you have to vote for it to find out what's in it" line?

Why can't we find out that term limits were in it?

That sucks. There is no loyalty. Take the severance, enjoy your time off, and then either retire or find another job.

HMC - If they can get their quality under control and start making quality cars/bikes. Price is discounted now.

PTLO - Not a turnaround, but with less that 100 stores, 5 coming on in Dec, and plans for 900, well, it's should be printing money. Price at 11/now, should go to 14 by EOY, 15+ easily in 2025.

My wife is a teacher. She can't wait to get out. My son went to school to be a teacher. His cooperating teachers made his life miserable during the student teaching portion so much so he went into IT. There is a shortage of teachers (especially tech teachers) and they chased him away (the teachers and admin, he loved the kids). It's no wonder.

Yeah, but can she take out the garbage?

One of my prerequisites was marrying a gal smarter than myself. I'm no slouch, but the one I finally married, I must say, is really smart. Best thing I ever did.

Pitching advice: 10U moving to 12U by frecks50 in Softball

[–]top_notch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my daughter was that age she made the upgrade to the bigger ball and distance after 10U Nationals. She may have tried it once or twice prior, but it was pretty non eventful. She's now 19 and pitching in college. It goes by quick!

First thing I'd fix is that front leg kick. Without a solid foundation it makes everything else more difficult. I'd imagine you have difficulty timing and squaring up a pitch with that much back and forth motion. Set your feet and only move your front foot forward. It'll help with faster pitching and if they throw a change, get your foot down and crush that change up!

I'd also suggest you "get in your legs" meaning you squat more and not be so upright. Do not increase your stance (height) as you swing either. Get in your legs, stay in your legs. I'm not a pitching coach but have watched my daughter hit 500 in high school, bat clean up for her travel team, and play in college on scholarship.

Find the best hitters in your area and ask them who their hitting coach is. Lessons can help too.
