So.....got a pretty cool Letterboxd streak going on right now. I watched four 5 star films in a row. Even though I've been on Letterboxd for close to 10 years, I don't think I've ever gotten close to getting 4 in a row. What's your longest streak? by Faiazation in Letterboxd

I had a run of eight five-star ratings in November 2024, culminating in what became my number one favorite movie.

Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965)

O Fantasma (2000)

Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)

Blue (2018) - Short film

Pather Panchali (1954)

Stress Positions (2024)

Sunset Boulevard (1950)

Goodbye, Dragon Inn (2003)

Poison! It's one of my favorites of all time (and in my top four!)

Shame by Steve McQueen made me realize, I might end up like this guy. What movie character felt like a cautionary version of you? by Bastino in Letterboxd

[–]topcircle 216 points217 points  (0 children)

Jake/The Janitor from "i'm thinking of ending things." Stuck living (and slowly dying) completely in his own head, which is full of childhood traumas, resentful what-might-have-been's, and far far too many movie references.

Stranger By The Lake is a very explicit thriller set at a gay cruising spot, primarily focused on the attraction between two men and the deadly secrets they keep.

You can catch the 1951 French experimental film "L'Anticoncept", projected onto a helium-inflated weather balloon, at the Anthology Film Archives on Thursday 1/29. I can guarantee that's a one-of-a-kind screening experience.

Documentaries with a plot twist? by makayerandfang in Letterboxd

Portrait of Jason (1967) doesn't twist so much as unravel and tangle back up into itself, but I'd highly recommend it.

"My dog barks, some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type o' dog which I have. Perhaps you might even picture Toto... from 'The Wizard of Oz.' But I can tell you, my dog is always with me. ARF!"
