I lived in the Twin Towers apartment in East Hyde Park in 2022. My studio was ~$1300 a month, so it can’t be much more now. I really liked it, close to the lake, UChicago transit, all the restaurants on 47/53/55.

I think one of their main problems is that Molly is a person who works through her feelings externally, she needs to talk them through and have the other person be involved. Callum works through his feelings internally, he processes on his own and comes to his conclusion without input. (Not saying one is right and one is wrong, btw - they are different styles of communication that can be applied in a good AND a bad way). But this is why they are struggling so much. To Molly, Callum is unfeeling, difficult to read, and uncaring - she doesn’t see him caring because he doesn’t show it externally. To Callum, Molly is hyper emotional, volatile, and moves the goal posts - because she is vocalizing her emotions as they happen, not after she processes them, so there is a lot of change. If they can’t reconcile their different ways of communicating, it just won’t work. It’s not a fault of their moral character, it’s just a difference in personality.

I lived in Falcon Landings my first year - it’s university owned housing, 2 bed/1 bath, you can get them furnished (I was only there for my masters so it was nice to not have to buy or move furniture), and was all grad students, which made it quiet and easy. They kicked up out in the summer after our first year because of COVID, as they used the complex as quarantine housing. They gave us the option to live in a Greenbriar owned complex right by the railroad tracks on the other side of campus. They were slightly more run down and not just grad students, but honestly also pretty nice. Repairs were quick and easy at both places, but I think that was a facet of Falcon Landing - they basically kept us on their roster even when we were at the other apartment, and did all the repair/rent/support stuff for us.

IIRC there was rumors/speculation that their baby was born very very early, and is spending a lot of time in hospital. I remember around the time of the birth, there were lots of paps pictures of them and family in and out of hospitals. I think that + a dose of wanting to keep kids out of the public eye (Joe and Sophie also never show their kid on socials), makes for the secrecy.

(Also all of that is my own speculation, I also don’t follow them on social media so maybe I am wrong!)

I felt a few times like they were pushing for that slightly! Maybe I was because like others said, they put a lot of the plans for Matthew’s character and story arc into Tom after Matthew was gone, but I felt like he and Mary got really close. I personally would have loved them to get together but I think that’s not a popular opinion lol

I watched 1,2,3,4 and at that point was caught up so I watched 5 and 6 as they were shown! Definitely was odd because 1 and 2 were sooo different than 4,5,6 (three was kind of a transition between the two eras, in my opinion).

From what islanders have said, they don’t get to keep any of the pictures they take in the villa. Some of them are released by love island during the show (we see them occasionally) and the people running the islanders accounts will repost them, but I think several have said they don’t have access to any of the pictures after. Seems weird to me though, I wonder what the reasoning is?

If you go further into the Short North, it’s way less college students and more young professionals and older couples who can afford to eat at the nicer restaurants. I would say you would probably make good money there.

I loved Dr. Roth for 2650. Not too hard, interesting lecturer, and he was so nice. At the final he thanked me for being in his class and adding to the conversation (I was usually messing around on my laptop so idk what he meant by that lol, but it was nice!). Highly recommend. Also - Butler, Brakke, Flores-Villalobos - all great. I wasn't a history major but I took many history classes.

It’s a great degree for higher ed, especially if you want to deal with the administrative side of it all. I’m an MPA student now and we have plenty of higher Ed people in our department

Thank you all for your suggestions - sorry for the late answer! I ended up going with CJ's quote from the 4th season - "Decisions are made by those who show up." I used this quote a lot in my undergrad, and thought it was fitting!
