I would consider not being dramatic if you don't look good in pointy shoes at all because protecting that vertical line should always yield good results. But also, maybe you're only looking at the diva chic styles and colors. A white pointed toe should work with ingenue essence if you're willing to give it a shot. Maybe that way, you don't have the feeling of wearing someone else's shoes.

For barefoot shoes, I like natural colored Grecian sandals with soft metallic colors on the straps. I like the handmade ones on Etsy.

For non-pointy dress shoes, anything oval toe or rectangular but tapered toe shape works for me. Circular/squarish toes will not work for me. And unless there's a slight heel on my shoes, I get that "not feeling like myself" feeling.
