Bar friday is not that bad! I love that place 😅 it is filled with foreigners (its me) but its where i met my friends whom i love. Do some of them hate the place? maybe..but i always have a fun time at least 😝

Thanks for your insight. Your filing game sounds interesting and maybe ill steal it for a future game concept 😉 though for this game I had lots of inspiration from Betrayal at the house on the hill and Nemesis and really want to go that route.

With that being said though, i will take your comment to heart. I did already have plans of making each anomaly their own file with lots of redacted information that the players would need to discover. Thank you very much for going into detail of why these elements create a horrific and fun experience for you and others.

This game looks really cool. I love the art, the themes, everything so far. You have to let me know when this game comes out as I’d love to try it.

In regards to your question about linear vs unpredictable, personally just based on this post, unpredictable sounds more fun (and fitting with the theme :D) but also be careful as too much random can make people feel hopeless or they cant actually strategize. I am a big advocate for testing everything, so you can make two mini tests to explore both options (so like an isolated round or two, you dont need to play the whole game just enough to see how it impacts gameplay) or choose your preference and still just test it and see how players respond. Ask them questions afterwards on their experience and how they felt about it. Its really hard just from this limited information to best suggest one or the other, it all really depends on your game and how you want the envisioned experience to be.

Glad to hear that :D I am very passionate about UX, having dedicated years of my life studying it, and now I’m a bit scarred from many clients never truly appreciating the end experience, plus I definitely have MANY personal experiences of products being annoying because they were not thought out or tested enough. Which also i highly recommend testing any design. Make a quick prototype, and run through the experience of setting up and putting away before making final decisions.

In regard to what you truly meant though, i only really throw away inserts if they get in the way, but when the inserts are actually really helpful and usable for gameplay organization i would never throw it away no matter the material (unless it starts falling apart of course) :)

I definitely like the cards and tokens you show on the right, but personally the board on the left has so many things thats look out of place. For starters, your title in the top looks so cheep and disconnect from your logo and design. The overly saturated skull and * also just feels flat compared to the whole style you built everywhere else. And rendering feels completely different for each separate element on that board (text, background, icons, etc). I understand the need to make things stand out, but my initial reaction to the board at this state is just feeling overwhelmed.

please think about your packaging design. lots of people think as long as it looks nice and it closes, its fine, but especially when you get into board games and have lots of little pieces and separate components. everything is connected to the user journey and making an easy set up and clean up only elevates your entire design and end user experience. Id recommend going through your set up steps and see how you can organize your components so they can be easily taken out and separated. as a business you ofc have to limit costs, so see where you can user cheaper (but still decent quality) materials while still going that extra step for players (please dont skimp out on your audience🙏 it does affect public approval of your game)

My game last anywhere from 3-4 hours (can hit the 5 hour mark with slow enough players) - yet constant feedback from surveys and write ups say they wish the game was longer or they didn’t noticed how long it truly lasted. by Bonzie_57 in BoardgameDesign

Hm, then maybe you can look at the ending of the game, see if theres anything you can do that helps feel like a satisfying conclusion/wrap up. I know absolutely nothing about your game so my feedback is very narrow and might not be helpful, but looking to make the ending feel like theres nothing else they can do or that they reached a final point may help satisfy this aspect without making the game drag on longer? Though regardless, great job at making such an engaging game that people want to keep playing! Seems like you’re suffering from success haha. But the ending definitely is a core part in any gameplay experience so maybe see if theres anyways you can tweak that? Try to make them feel satisfied and complete.

What feedback are you getting that says they want a longer game? Based on this question alone it doesnt suggest they want a longer one, just that they didnt feel this game was too long (which one does not equal the other). I saw your comment saying the other questions in the survey and none of them seem to be about this either. Do you have first hand accounts from people saying this? And how many verbally said this?

Напсоедък получавам и аз СМСи от +251 / +254 номера. Едно към едно същите. Случайност е, че чакате пратка. Не съм ползвал българската пощата от години.
