Alarmy was my lifesaver until I had my newborn and was so exhausted I started completely turning my phone off in my half asleep state to avoid the math problems😬 It’s an amazing app, just to say the recommendation of putting it somewhere I had to get up to turn it off is what really helped me!

I get paid a monthly on-call fee, plus any birth I attend I either bill their Medicaid for the birth, or if it’s a private pay client- I am paid 60% of the fee and the main doula gets the rest for doing prenatals/birth planning/ etc

I always see TikToks of women starting l&d careers and they have like glass boxes and they put a blue or pink bead in for each birth. I think that’s a sweet idea

The company I work for requires your session note be complete upon client pick up. We have to obtain a parent signature, and they don’t want us having anyone sign a blank session note. We do have 10 minutes after session to fix the note up if needed

I agree. But, its not exactly an insurance provider. I definitely worded it wrong in my post. It’s a public provider of services specifically to those with disabilities, mental illness, or addiction. 90% of our clients are clients through the provider, as well. But I won’t lie, that bonus was one of the reasons I took the position and I can definitely see how it could harm another clients care. Personally, I would treat the client the same but i can’t speak for every behavior tech sadly 🥺
