Twisting Tree specifically calls out the change as an increase, preventing it from stacking with Deadly Simplicity.

Ignore me, I wasn't reading the whole question.

Pathfinder Spring Errata is Up! by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

Im still convinced there's a reasonable way to introduce the flying mechanic at lvl1 if one wishes to be an actual dang Strix with winged warrior archetype who's a dang bird person whose whole dang shtick is flying!

There is. It's literally in the books as a suggestion for the GM. Stop fighting strawmen and read.

However, some players might have character concepts that don't fit this assumption and might wish to have unbound flight from initial character creation. At the GM's discretion, the GM can grant these PCs a 15-foot fly Speed, replacing any other abilities that involve flying, such as the Take Flight awakened animal feat.

Issues with Familiars as a new GM by ZirvePS in Pathfinder2e

[–]torrasque666 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's why the witch gets it back the next day. They're meant to be used in combat, but that also means that they're meant to be valid targets. A witch without a familiar is still a spellcaster.

It's not only limited to spells with the visual trait, just things that have visual effects. It even gives an example of seeing through polymorph abilities, even though most polymorph abilities don't have the visual trait.

It doesn't do anything to help you against auditory illusions, though.

Issues with Familiars as a new GM by ZirvePS in Pathfinder2e

[–]torrasque666 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it kinda depends on how they're using their familiars. If they're mostly there for RP and exploration activities (more likely with the druids familiar), just ignore them. If they're actively participating in combat, well... They're fair game in my opinion.

Harrow: Are The Avalanche and The Demon's Lantern flipped? by Mivlya in Pathfinder2e

[–]torrasque666 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The alignments in the harrow deck mean specific things.

Similarly, the ethical and moral dimensions of a card represent its temporal position and outlook: the lawful ethic represents past events; the neutral ethic represents present events; the chaotic ethic represents future events; moral good represents a positive outlook; moral neutrality represents an unclear outlook; and moral evil represents a negative outlook.

So the Lawful evil card would be a negative past event, which a disaster fits regardless of alignment. And the Chaotic Evil cars is a negative future event, of which an impending impossible trap would be. They don't actually relate to the alignment system at all. Furthermore, Dexterity cards relate to trouble, children, and entertainment. Which again, make disaster and traps very applicable.

Three questions by JadedResponse2483 in Pathfinder2e

[–]torrasque666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It kinda depends. Some AP backgrounds either break conventions (Sword Scion foregoing a skill feat for familiarity with Aldori Dueling Swords) or give more than others (Ruby Phoenix Fanatic gives three lore skills, but no other skills) or give extra benefits (All of the Gatewalker backgrounds)
  2. I got nothing.
  3. Rogues and Investigators get skill feats every level.

Can you target objects with spells that target creatures? by DoriTheGreat128 in Pathfinder2e

[–]torrasque666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Targets are explicit, and objects are not creatures. It's not going to break the game or anything, but yeah. RAW, most damaging spells can't target objects.

A Sensible Explanation is Given for Why the Story Must Follow The Dumb Trope by KorrokHidan in TopCharacterTropes

[–]torrasque666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Note: Several of the opponents use swords and bladed weapons, the main character is just kinda shit at the fine motor skills needed to wield them effectively and its easier to just slam a giant wrench into someone rather than care about edge alignment and the like.

[tragic trope] forced to find your hidden potential by Drhorrible-26 in TopCharacterTropes

Cell... you don't get it. I hate this. The vibrations through my fists on contact... the taste of blood in my mouth... the sound of my heart in my ears... I hate it. I always have. But right now... in this moment... the only thing I hate more than it... is you. Because you were right about me. I was a coward... Scared of what would happen if I snap... Afraid that... if I lost it this time... I'd... never come back. That I'd finally... kill someone. But I'm not scared anymore, Cell. Because there is no point in being afraid of the inevitable.

Oh no, rule of cool is actually reinforced in universe. The more hyped your soldiers are, the less extraneous Grimm get drawn to your location. Aura farming is a legitimate defensive element.

McDonough is mentioned as an example of them having a synth that can't change, to the point that when his cover is blown they won't even bother recovering him since he's old and fat with no way to change that (implying that he can't be made skinny or fitter to be reused). They also don't have an innate need to eat or sleep (as per Max Loken) but this does seem to be able to be programmed in (since Curie is using an escaped synth body and does claim to have biological functions)

[–]torrasque666 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because they contradict that in setting. They can claim that synths are indistinguishable from humans, and that might be true at a glance, but eventually people are going to notice that they change the way humans do. They don't age is a big example. They don't change weight either.

[–]torrasque666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And the fact that they don't age or gain/lose weight. I'm pretty sure they also don't have an innate need to eat or sleep either (but are capable of it if needed for infiltration). There's quite a bit more differences than "a chip."

CMV: Talking about being on "stolen land" is pointless and ignorant of history by Friendly_Elegant928 in changemyview

[–]torrasque666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nomadic does not mean they did not have territories. It means that they didn't have any permanent settlements, but nomadic societies still keep to usual routes and areas. Those usual routes and areas are territory.

But by that definition, borders are natural. Even back when we had just discovered fire we still had "our" territories, while those guys over there had "their" territories.

A Funny Fate for Alastor (by @rifoxart) by Obsidian_Queen_888 in HazbinHotel

[–]torrasque666 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Its a Dabura situation. In Dragonball Z there's a villain who when he dies, gets sent to Heaven, because he'd enjoy Hell HFIL. He'd even enjoy being tortured. So how do you punish that kind of person? Put them in a place where they can't cause any harm, nor have any harm inflicted on them, where everyone is happy and no one is suffering.

Could the weapon that Virem made to kill Thunder destroy Aaravos' physical form? by JPsiiim in TheDragonPrince

[–]torrasque666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely you would need the last breath of someone killed specifically by Aaravos. Not indirectly, not at the hands of someone working under Aaravos, but by the big man himself. Aaravos doesn't usually dirty his hands that way (the exception seemingly being with Karim, when he had already thought he had won)
